in the industry

This project is given as an alternative activity to the educational trip which aims to expose
Context students to relevant civil engineering technologies in the industry. In light of the COVID19
pandemic, this alternate activity tries to redirect the introduction of recent/advanced
technologies to potential solutions that apply civil engineering techniques/technologies.
At the end of this CIP, students are expected to be able to gain new knowledge and integrate
Project Summary that with their civil engineering knowledge to produce viable and creative solutions that could
contribute to the COVID19 response.

• Must have not less than 600 words and not more than 2000 words
• “Introduction” – should contain the overview of the pandemic situation on a global,
national, and local scale
• Succeeding sections of your write-up must consist of reviews of technologies or
techniques that lead up to your proposed solution. This part/s would be similar to a
review of related literature but you are allowed to include technical specifications or
other verified sources.
• Potential civil engineering solution – the elaboration of your idea of how to
contribute to the fight against COVID19. Your proposal need not be original so as
long as it applies some degree of civil engineering know-how and that it suits local
setting (i.e. NCR, your hometown, etc.)
• Reflection – this portion should contain your realizations as to how significantly the
CE profession can aid in the immediate or long term solution or recovery from the
pandemic.
• References
Reminders:
• This activity does not evaluate your proposed solution per se, but more so HOW you
arrived at your proposed solution. The project aims to evaluate your ability to learn new
knowledge and integrate them with your civil engineering knowledge
• You can include diagrams, photos, or graphs as necessary
• If you cannot submit your work via Blackboard, please send your file (Word Document
or PDF) to any of your instructors – Ma’am Rocel, Ma’am Michelle, Sir Ahj – via another
platform (e.g. email, FB, etc.) and ask them to turn your work in for you using your
Blackboard account. Naturally, you will need to lend them your username and password
Attachment Rubric
1. Did I use multiple valid sources for my research?
Reflective Questions 2. Did I cite these references correctly?
3. Does my proposed solution employ civil engineering know-how?
