 Vocabulary

1. Weather report: a systematic statement of the existing and usually the

predicted meteorological conditions over a particular area

Look online or watch a national weather report

before going to the beach.

2. Flooding: a rising and overflowing of a body of water

especially onto normally dry land.

Flooding is the major and most frequently recurring

natural disaster in the World.

3. Thunder: the sound that follows a flash of lightning and is

caused by sudden expansion of the air in the path of the

electrical discharge. She woke up to the sound of

a thunder that rattled the entire house.

4. Frosty: very cold, with a thin layer of white ice

covering everything.
The nights in winter are frosty and snow falls
occasionally.
5. Storm:  a disturbance of the atmosphere
marked by wind and usually by rain, snow, hail,
sleet, or thunder and lightning.
He was trying to keep her busy so she wouldn't
have time to think about the storm.
6. Sunshine: the sun's light or direct rays.
I love the warm sunshine on my skin.

7. Skies: the region of the atmosphere

and outer space seen from the earth.
The skies ar e clear nearly every day in the year.

8. Rain:  water falling in drops condensed from vapor

in the atmosphere.
 I love falling asleep to the sound of rain.

Weather report: it is expected a cold

front comes to the West, to the North,
including San Pedro Sula.

San Pedro Sula is a city with very hot

and sunny weather, but a cold, cloudy
and rainy weather is expected for the
next three days. During the day the
weather will be mainly cloudy with a
passing shower or two; breezy this
afternoon; and the night will be mainly
cloudy with a touch of rain. After these
three days of cold front, the
temperature will begin to rise and the
weather will be partly cloudy, and in a
few days the city will return to its
normal temperature.
