1.0 PURPOSE:

To establish a procedure to carry out scheduled as well as un-scheduled preventive/ predictive


maintenance of all Electrical equipments.

2.0 SCOPE:

Scheduled: Equipment where stand by are available (Motors, Switchgear, Transformers, Panels &
D.G. Sets).
Un-Scheduled: All critical equipments, which cannot be stopped during normal process.

3.0 DEFINITIONS :

MR: Management Representative, FH: Functional Head, DH: Department Head


Sr. Engineer: Senior Engineer. IMS: Integrated Management System.
Scheduled P.M.: Maintenance carried out according to a planned periodic schedule even when no
Abnormality detected, the schedule is prepared with the past experience/ performance of the
equipment.
Un-Scheduled P.M: Maintenance done during plan general shutdown or unplanned shutdown of the
plant or breakdown of the equipment which are critical for plant operation.

4.0 RESPONSIBILITY :

4.1 Overall responsibilities are with Head (Engg.). Planning and responsibility of preventive
predictive maintenance lies with the Electrical Dept. Manager. Specific responsibilities are
detailed in the description.
