Recap of 2010 By Magic Arrow

An end to a year and another chapter has been added to Sythe’s history. It has been est:
marred by bannings, lifted by promotions and filled with enough Drama to make
Steven Spielberg look like an amateur. It has been a good year for me too, with it

being the year I got promoted to the staff team. Here is a recap of my 2010.
 New OMM
The year began relatively slow for me, I had gotten into pin selling and I was less
active in other sections that I usually frequented. The first big event for me was the  Promotions
acceptance of Syed to OMM, as he was one of my best Sythe friends. In March I
earned my first spell on the User Education team. Throughout the year there were  Loss of a popular UE
people being promoted to various positions, and I felt that I was more deserving at
time. This was made worse by the fact that in May, my OMM application was de-  Resignations/
nied. I felt that there was certain individuals who played a huge role in this, and I Demotions
started to lash out at the site, taking on a carefree approach. In the latter stages of
May, I went on a three month holidays and was inactive on the site for the major-
ity of that period, other than a few troll posts. When I came back, my attitude had
turned to anger when two of my best Sythe friends, Kadaj and Syed were banned. I
started to flame in a lot of my posts, and acquired two pages of infractions in under
a fortnight.

Change came during my second temporary banning, as I had spoken to Dalpra

about returning to the UE team. Through my application I promised that I would
no longer be the feisty troll that I had once been. I tried to fulfill my promise and
little under two months later, I was promoted to Head User Educator, my first
time with a staff position. On New years Eve, I was given Community moderator
permissions.
Overall, 2010 has been a good year for me on Sythe, one of change, and I hope it

Round of Promotions by Greg
A recent round of sectional promotions took
place on the 28th of December when Louis
returned to staff as runescape mod as both
Pureown and Nonamekiller were promoted to
WoW and RS mod respectively. The end of
month promotions came as a shocker to some,
but all were well deserved.
It was no surprise that Rohail would be a fit person for the job, especially
after being accepted as a official middle man just a few months back. He had
always been an active member in the runescape market sections, and I be-
lieve that it was only a matter of time until he would be promoted as a market
moderator.
Also to finish of my article I would like to wish our newest market moderator
the best of luck with his new position, as I do with all members that have
recently promoted. Like I have said before you seem like a very fit person for

Resignations and Demotions

MegaMatt’s Absense by Brendan W
MegaMatt, one of Sythes longer standing staff member re-
signed for an indefinte period of time and been put on the
suspended staff list on the 28th of November as he feels he
needs the time to follow his real life priorities and he doesn't
feel he has the motivation to continue moderating.
MegaMatt, who was promoted to Runescape Moderator on the
1st of December 2009 and then Global moderator on the 21st
of June 2009 recently requested to be demoted to Off-Topic
moderator as he was busy with real life issues and felt he
didn't have the time to fulfill his Global duties.
We hope to see MegaMatt back on the staff soon.
Dalpra’s Absense by Brendan W
Dalpra, one of the longest standing contributers to the User
Education is currently on a 7 week break due to real life
committments and a lack of access to internet during his
holidays.
To temporarily fill Dalpras position, Gregislacrosse has taken
up the Head User Educator role. When asked how he feels
about being awarded this poisition, Greg replied: I don't
know if I feel much of anything, I am happy to be granted
the oppurtunity, but my focus should not change. I will still
continue to help people around the forum and assist with
sythe monthly.
Dalpra should be returning Mid to late January. When he
returns, Greg has informed us he'll happily stand down for
Dalpra to return to his regular duties.

Pen’s Departure
Pen, the longest running staff member of over 4 years retired from admin on 12/28/10. This came as
a shock to many, but was supported by the recent promotion of Finn back to admin. Pen is leaving to
pursue real life goals, as he is now in college and is plenty more busy. He has served an impressive
four years on and off as a staff member of Sythe.org, and has accomplished much more than ever
dream of, Sythe wise. Known for his ever impressive activity, Pen has recently been famous for his
"denied" rampage through the dispute and high pardon forums. Although being labeled harshly from
his "denied" routine by banned users. Pen has also served as a HUE before.

The User Education team wishes Pen the best of luck wish his future endeavours.

Catching ban evaders left and right. Running IP checks while everyone's
sleeping. Getting rid of scammers. Very few people have actually done
this, and I believe we have found the best one yet; FireZ.

FireZ's hard work and contributions to the forum are never-ending, and
the work that he has put into the forums is absolutely amazing. Congratu-
lations to FireZ for his promotion to Global Moderator after only 3 months
of moderating as a Off-Topic Moderator. FireZ, who works long hours as a
hotel desk clerk, enjoys the effort and work he puts into Sythe. The

the forum clean and enjoyable. FireZ was given Market Mod permissions a
in the User week before his promotion to Global Moderator. Due to the recent demo-
