April 30, 2020 - Class 03 of 04

Hello, students. How are you?

This class seems to be a little easier than the others according to the content, although it
has the same level of importance.
Why do we need to study Phonetic and Phonology at university? It is registered in
educational documents (PCN, DCN, and, our focus, BNCC).

The first task is:

READ THIS SUMMARY ABOUT THE ENGLISH TEACHING ACCORDING

TO BNCC. THEN, WRITE YOUR OWN REVIEW (RESENHA) ABOUT THE
ENGLISH TEACHING. IF YOU WANT, YOU CAN USE THE ORIGINAL BNCC
DOCUMENT IN PORTUGUESE AS WELL.

The second task is:

As you know, as Portuguese (L1) speakers you can perceive what is being changed (or
varying) in our language, e.g.:
• We do not use the second person of discourse TU, instead of this we use VOCÊ;
• We do not use NÓS or VÓS, we use A GENTE or VOCÊS;
• Some Past tenses are not used anymore;

It has periods of variation in language and then they can change:

Variation > Change

NOW, THINK ABOUT ENGLISH! WHAT HAS CHANGED RECENTLY?? (IF

YOU DO NOT KNOW, SEARCH FOR IT)
