Machine Design & CAD-I

Week No. 6
Steps followed in practice drawing

 We set the units in inches and the precision is set at 2 decimals. The limits sets at
(0,0) and (1000, 1000).

 We select the A3 page for our drawing

 The dimension of A3 page is 420mm×297mm.
 We use the rectangle command to draw the A3 page.
 After the we use the Explode command to explode the line of rectangle.
 Then we set the page border at 10mm on all four sides.
 After this we use the offset command of 10mm on all four sides of the page.
 Now we use the trim command to trim the unnecessary part and hence we draw
the page with border 10mm.
 As in our drawing we have to draw the Front view, Side view and top view of the
3D drawing.
 So we have to equally divide our page.
 We use the equation and equally divide our page.
 After that we the line command to draw a line of 76mm horizontally and a line of
52.33mm vertically.
 After that we use the rectangle command to draw a rectangle with dimension of
108mm×56mm.
 Similarly, we use the line command again and draw a line of 76mm horizontally
again we use the rectangle command to draw a rectangle of 64mm×56mm.
 Again we use the line command to draw a line of 52.33 vertically and use the
rectangle command to draw a rectangle having dimension of 108mmm×64mm.
 And again we use the rectangle command to draw a rectangle of dimension of
100mm×70mm for title box.

 In the next step we have to draw a front view of the drawing

 We use the line command to draw a line of 108mm horizontally and 12mm line
vertically.
 Again we use the line command of 44mm vertically and 44mm line horizontally.
 Similarly, again we use the line command to draw a line of 32mm horizontally
from top and 32mm line downward from that.
 After the we use the line command to draw a line of 24mm downward and join it.
 After that we use the hidden line command to draw a hidden line horizontally
20mm away from top.
 After that we have to draw a side view of our 3d drawing
 We use the line commands to draw the respective lines for our side view.
 We draw 64mm horizontally line and 24mm vertically line.
 Then we draw a 12mm horizontally and meet it at the top.
 Similarly, we draw a 12mm line from the right side horizontally and meet it at the
top.
 Then to draw the hidden line we the point start end radius arc to draw the hidden
line.

 After that we use the trim command to trim the unnecessary lines.
 Now we have to draw the top view of our 3d drawing.
 We use the line command to draw the respective line.
 We draw a line of 76mm horizontally from the top left side of the box.
 Then we draw a vertically line of 12mm from its end point.
 Then we use the circle command to draw a circle of 20mm radius.
 From the bottom point of circle, we draw a vertically line downward.
 After that again we use the line command to draw line from the top left side
vertically downward of 20mm. Then we again draw a line of 44mm horizontally
and meet it downward.

 Then we draw a 12mm line horizontally from the end point of the line and draw a
line of 20mm vertically upward.
 Similarly, from the top we use the line command and draw line of 12mm
horizontally and 20mm vertically downward.
 Then we extend the line horizontally 6mm and join them.
 And in the last we use the trim command to trim the circle unnecessary parts.

 After that in last step we use the dimension.

 And text command to type in the tile box.
