Then we were taken to the “ Coins Gallery ”. In the Coin’s Gallery we saw
coins of many different dynasties and eras from “ Stone Age ” in the
Subcontinent. The coins included gold, silver, bronze coins, some were very
small, and some were very big. The Guide told us that the first currency of
the subcontinent were cowry shells. The coins collection included coins
from “ Tughluq Empire” , “Mughal Empire” , “Maratha Empire” etc.
Then we were taken to the “ Stamp Gallery ”. The Gallery included the
entire stamp collection of Pakistan from 1948 to till present .The Guide told
us about the History of posting stamps.
Then we were taken to the “ Currency Gallery ”. The Gallery included the
complete collection of Pakistani banknotes since its inception (1947-till to
date).
Then we were taken to the “ Library of the State Bank of Pakistan ” after a
security clearance .At first we were given a brief introduction of the Library , then
they told us about its current status. The current status is that there are over 11
LAKH Books available for reading related to Banking, Finance and Economics,
there are also books available of other subjects as well, there are over 36000+
Journal available for reading related to Banking, Finance and Economics, we can
also easily find surveys of Pakistan and other Countries by Famous organizations
like IMF, WORLD BANK etc.
Then we went back into our University Bus and left for visiting Quaid-e-Azam’s
House Museum. When we arrived there we were divided in to small groups and
taken inside Quaid-e-Azam’s Home Tour. Things used by Jinnah and her sister
are still there and it's nice to see how simple they were. We also received a Guide
there as well. When we first entered the house we saw Quaid’s Dining Room with
1948 Japanese and Chinese “ plates and cups ”.The tables and chairs were given
by “ Shireen Jinnah ( SJ ) ” .Then we came down again where we saw the “
Drawing Room ” of the House. Finally, we came out of the house and saw Fatima
Ali Jinnah’s Two Cars.
Then we went back into our University Bus and left for visiting “ Mohatta Palace
Museum ”. When we arrived there we bought tickets of RS 30 to go inside . there
is so much strictness on not using cell phone cameras which is I don't understand?
Each and every employee of the museum is continuously intimating against using
of cameras . Then we were divided in to small groups and taken inside Mohatta
Palace Museum Tour. We were not allowed to take pictures inside it so our
mobiles were confiscated before entering and returned when we got out . When
we were inside we saw the art work of many famous painters, artists and
calligraphers etc of the subcontinent.
Fantastic experience of visiting these places also I will rate as the best
Museum in Pakistan. The museum is very well maintained and is at par
with international standards. Apart from the evolution of money, it also
has a collection of stamps from different countries Historical places are the
symbol of peace and historic things. Historical places are
always bringing a great experience of learning new things. It is also
helpful to improve educational skills. such visits are very helpful for your
us because we actually get to see those things practically which we read
about in textbooks, articles etc.
Suggestions :
There is no entry ticket fee, you can enter for free, all you need to do is hand
in your NIC prior to entry, and can take it back after finishing the tour.
There is a guide available for those wanting to know more, although the
guide wasn't of much help, in my opinion, I much rather preferred reading
the signs which gave more information about each room. But, the guide was
in quite a hurry, he continually asked us to move along, not giving us the
chance to read the signs of the rooms properly.
The rooms inside the Quaid e Azam house were well maintained and clean,
the garden outside could've used a little more work.
