Types of questions:
1. AIM / PURPOSE
How to answer?
- To investigate the relationship between ....... and the.......
Examples:
- To investigate the relationship between the number of batteries and
the speed of the model cars.
- To investigate the relationship between the number of folds and the
stability.
- To investigate the relationship between the sources of food and the
number of consumer.
2. VARIABLES
There are 3 types of variables:
a) Controlled / Constant variables
- It is a variables that are kept the same
Examples – size / type of the object
b) Manipulated variables
- It is a variables that changed
Examples – presence / absence of ....... (depends on the
experiment)
c) Responding variables
- Variables that are observed from the experiment done
Examples – the condition of the.....
3. ESTIMATION / PREDICTION
This type of question needs you to predict / estimate based on the info /
table / graph / table / picture given. Normally you need to do some
maths calculation to answer this type of questions.
4. HYPOTHESIS / RELATIONSHIP
You need to write the relationship between the variables given from the
experiment and the results you get from the experiment.
Examples:
- The further the distance among the trees, the more mangoes are
produced.
- The more heat provided to the rubber band, the longer the rubber
band become.
- The larger the based area of the container, the more stable the
container.
5. CONCLUSION
This section needs you to conclude your experiment. You need to know
the effect to your experiment when there are changes in your variables.
Examples:
- The number of batteries affects the speed of the model cars.
- The large number of folds will increase the stability/ strength of
paper to support the number of books.
- As the number of sparrows increase, the number of caterpillars
decreases.
6. TREND
How to answer?
Study the trends and answer accordingly.
Examples :
- Increasing
- Decreasing
- Increase uniformly ( bertambah dengan sekata)
- Same / constant / no change
7. OBSERVATION
It is what you see directly from the experiment at that point of time.
Examples :
- Objects float easily in the sea compared to river.
- Rubber band Y becomes longer when hung by a cup.
- Distance travelled by K is further than J.
- The chicks getting weaker / not active.
8. INFERENCE / REASON
You need to write the reasons of a certain results from the experiment.
Examples :
- The used of pencils reduces the friction.
- The position of the sun is vertically above the pole.
- Water evaporated from the wet tissues.
