accordance with the Constitution of the Institution.

fees indicated below. You are thereafter authorized to use the title “MIET” after your name and your membership
certificate will be available for collection within two weeks after payment of the fees.

Payment should be made by Cash or Cheque to the Institution of Engineers Tanzania. Upcountry member are
strongly advised to pay through our CRDB Bank account No. 01J1042971100 Tower Branch, Postal Money Order
(PMO), Telegraphic Transfer (TT), EMS Money Fax or MPESA 0745 552 420 (Transfer expenses are to be borne
by sender).
The relevant provisions pertaining to IET membership fees are:
“...........................Provided that a person transferred from one class to another shall pay an amount equal to the
entrance fee of the class to which he has been transferred less any entrance fee previously paid by him”. (Sub-
section 6.01, IET Constitution).”
“.........................A member of any class whose annual subscription is one year or more in arrears shall be so
notified and in the event of continuing in arrears for six months after such notification, he may, by resolution of the
Council be excluded from the Institution and he shall thereupon cease to be a member and his name shall be erased
from the register; but such erasure shall not relieve him from his liability for the payment of the arrears of
subscriptions due from him calculated up to the 31st day of December preceding his exclusion”. (Sub-section
6.08(b) IET, Constitution).

FORM OF UNDERTAKING

I, the undersigned, agree that, in the event of my election to membership of any

class in the Institution of Engineers Tanzania, I will be governed by the
Constitution and Bye-Laws of the Institution as they now are or as they may
hereafter be altered, and that I will advance the objectives of the Institution as far
as shall be in my power.

Provided that, whenever I shall signify in writing to the Executive Secretary that I
am desirous of withdrawing from the Institution I shall after the payment of any
arrears which may be due by me at that period be free from the obligation.
