This will be your Performance task for the following subjects:

Math and Algebra (Irwin Tolentino)

Directions:Given two sets of table below, you will create a POLYGON TABLE. You will fill out the missing data by finding
the constant/s, variable/s, number of diagonals and number of triangles form. After filling out the data you are going to
find the mean and median using number of diagonals and number of triangles form as your ungrouped data.

Note: The POLYGON TABLE that you will create must be creative.

Passing: Until May 15, Friday

1.

Polygon Constant/s(No. Variable/s No. of Diagonals No. of Triangles formed

of Sides)
Heptagon 7 n 14 5
Octagon 8 n 20 6
Nonagon 9 n 27 7
Decagon 10 n 35 8
Undecagon 11 n 44 9
Dodecagon 12 n 54 10
Answer the following questions below:

1. What is the formula used in finding the number of diagonals? Number of triangles form?
-The formula used in finding the number of diagonals is n(n-3)/2. Example: Take 7 (no. of sides) and substitute
that in your n. Thus: 7 (7-3)/2 = 14 (no. of diagonals).
-The formula used in finding the number of triangles is n-2 where n is the no. of sides. Example, take 7 as your n
and subtract it to 2, you will get 5 (no. of triangles).

2. Using the number of diagonals as your ungrouped data find the:

a. Mean
14+20+27+35+44+54=194/6=32.33
Answer: 32.33

b. Median
14, 20, 27, 35, 44, 54
=27+35=62/2=31
Answer: 31

3. Using the Number of triangles formas your ungrouped data find the:
a. Mean
5+6+7+8+9+10=45/6=7.5
Answer: 7.5

b. Median
5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
=7+8=15/2=7.5
Answer: 7.5

2.

Polygon Constant/s(No. Variable/s No. of Diagonals No. of Triangles formed

of Sides)
Triangle 3 n 0 1
Quadrilateral 4 n 2 2
Pentagon 5 n 5 3
Hexagon 6 n 9 4
Heptagon 7 n 14 5
Tridecagon 13 n 65 11

Answer the following questions below:

1. What is the formula used in finding the number of diagonals? Number of triangles form? (Note: The formula
used is the same as in the formula in number 1.
-The formula used in finding the number of diagonals is n(n-3)/2. Example: Take 3 (no. of sides) and substitute
that in your n. Thus: 3 (3-3)/2 = 0 (no. of diagonals).
-The formula used in finding the number of triangles is n-2 where n is the no. of sides. Example, take 3 as your n
and subtract it to 2, you will get 1 (no. of triangles).

2. Using the number of diagonals as your ungrouped data find the:

c. Mean
0+2+5+9+14+20=50/6=8.33
Mean: 8.33

d. Median
0, 2, 5, 9, 14, 20
=5+9=14/6=2.33
Answer: 2.33

3. Using the Number of triangles form as your ungrouped data find the:
c. Mean
1+2+3+4+5+6=21/6=3.5
Answer: 3.5

d. Median
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
=3+4=7/2=3.5
Answer: 3.5
