Scenarios and Activity:

Khaing Khaing Kyaw, Burmese food restaurant has been in the Burmese food market for more than a decade. It has
branches in Yangon, Nay Pyi Daw, and some other major cities in Myanmar, in total of 14 branches. It opens daily
and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each branch of the restaurant offers different variety of Burmese foods that
you cannot count how many items sometimes. There are also dishes from all over Myanmar that are famous among
Myanmar foods. A customer can choose the already cooked dishes from the display or can order the dish especially
vegetable dishes. The restaurant is not only offering food at the brick and motor restaurant format, but the shop also
delivers lunch and dinner to home when someone subscribes for it, which the restaurant is famous for. Besides this,
it offers catering, also.

Another thing Khaing Khaing Kyaw is quite famous for not using MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) in cooking. However,
most of the staff at the restaurant are seen with Knorr aprons and there is some news that MSG is one of the
ingredients of Knorr. It cannot be said that the restaurant uses Knorr or not as the staff are seen wearing Knorr’s
apron and hats because it can be just the promotion of the brand.

You will see, “I stop by to eat because I am hungry so be quick” at every branch as the restaurant’s motto. The
waiting staff and other staff are courteous. The orders they take are never mistaken. The offered food items or the
theme might be different from branch to branch but the appearance of each branch is almost the same. The
customers who are eating can see banners hanging saying “what kind of new Burmese items are available at other
branches” and “what new branches are opening at where”. At some branches, customers can sit with the air-

conditioned room or they can enjoy open air surrounding.

Its website has full of information on food items, catering, lunch and dinner boxes, news about the restaurant,
branches and about their advertising. Sometimes, the restaurant puts the ads in the newspaper run by the
Government about their new openings. The restaurant has Facebook page as well as customers can write their
reviews on tripadviser site, which potential customers know about the restaurant regarding to its food, service, and
others.

As a marketing consultant, you need to write a report on roles and responsibilities of marketing functions of ‘Khaing
Khaing Kyaw’ and how its Marketing working with other functional units to achieve the goal of the restaurant from
the case. You need to think of necessary factors, situations, and others beside the case for your report.
