Comment on this, “Mission is much more challenging now than before.” Limit your answer to 3 lines if
possible. (4 points)

Mission is much more challenging now than before because we are faced with an unknown enemy and
with that comes uncertainty, fear and other more things. We are faced with lack of resources and also
various what ifs. Because of this, mission becomes difficult because of these complications in the world
we live in.

Activity 3
The CICM-Philippine Missionaries and Me
I am* To whom (specific person) and how?** (8 pts.)
1. A Learner and a Listener To my Parents
- I am a learner because they are the ones
who taught me the things that I know now. They
are the first teachers that I had and who taught
me the values and the learnings that make me
who I am today and I will learn from them as I
ask and journey my life. I will learn as I ask them
advices and inputs on the things that I encounter
in life. Secondly, a Listener to them because
whenever I am hard up on my endeavours and
when they are also sad and feeling happy, I
always will listen to their advices and their ideas.
When the time comes, I will be their listener
when they feel sad or happy just like how they
did when I was younger. Because fostering open
communication was the greatest thing that they
taught me.
2. A Bridge-Builder My Sister
- I am very adventurous when it comes to
food and other activities and my sister on the
other hand is very selective. I can become a
bridge-builder by helping my sister experience
new things and making sure that she widens her
span of activities for her to be more immersed in
things that she may never try and by doing so,
hopefully be able to really help her be more open
to new things in her life.
3. A Healer and Reconciler Friends
- I am very opinionated and very frank
about things. As a healer I would help people
better their understanding of why it happened
And really give advices when needed. I will listen
to them and give unbiased opinions and ideas
about how they can solve their problems. Also, a
reconciler to my friends because I am usually the
quiet and the more observant one. I never take
sides and will make sure that both parties are
heard. I can be a reconciler by helping both
parties understand the other sides of the story by
making sure that people know where they went
wrong and why they argued, I can help reconcile
their differences.
4. A home-builder For impoverished areas or people
- All my life, I have dreamt of having a
charity institution where I can really help the
people who are less fortunate. I can really help
them by making sure that I donate and share the
things I have for them. Eventually, I hope I can
expand and have my own scholars or
beneficiaries in the future which can really help
them have better future for their families.
*The first column refers to you as someone who possesses the different characteristics of a missionary
(e.g. I am a learner and a listener, etc.)

**To whom are you going to be a learner and a listener and how? It can be your friend, brother, father,
mother, etc.

Answer these questions: What had been wrong with humanity before the pandemic? What perspective
does humanity need to have now? Limit your answer to 4 lines if possible. (6 points)

____________________________________________________________________________________
Humanity had been wrong in basically thinking that life is just life and that money makes things
important. People always took things for granted and are usually very self-centred. We always thought
that life revolves around us and that nothing is more important than money and other trivial things.
Now, we really need to have a broader humanitarian perspective. Not just thinking about the self but
thinking about the people around us and the environment where we live in. We should start to shift
our thinking to the idea of “WE” not just “ME”.
