1. Health
- A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence
of disease or infirmity.

2. Components of Health

Physical Health
Most important aspects of health. Whether it’s running, swimming, walking, dancing,
or playing basketball, every movement you make strengthens your muscles. Being active will
benefit you both physically and mentally, which will also more than likely add years to your
life.

Social Health
Relates to interacting and communicating with others. Going to the movies, attending
a party, or playing a game of catch, aren’t just fun things to do, it’s also an essential
component to maintaining your health.

Cognitive Health
Refers to the brain and its ability to perform. Cognitive functions include learning a
new language, judgment, and memory.

Emotional Health
Remains one of the most important aspects of health, yet it is constantly overlooked.
Emotional health is often defined as a person who possesses the ability to not only recognize
reality, but also cope with the demands of daily life.

Cultural Health
The Culture we live in constantly influences our health and wellness. Cultural health
often refers to a specific demographic, which gives everyone the opportunity to lead healthier
lifestyles. Your environment and culture continuously influence your life. In order to
maintain good cultural health, you should surround yourself with healthy living and work
environment.

Spiritual Health

Spiritual health can provide you the extra push needed to make it through a long day at work.
A person’s spirituality can also help them deal with tough situations in life, including
rejection, death, or overcoming financial hardships while providing a person a spiritual
direction, which help them maintain more harmonious relationships.

3. Physical Activity and Exercise for Health and Fitness

Aerobics

 Walking
 Dancing
 Swimming
 Water Aerobics
 Jogging and running
 Aerobic exercise classes
 Bicycle Riding
 Some gardening activities, such as raking and pushing a lawn mower
 Tennis
 Golfing

Flexibility

 Heavy Gardening

 Push-ups on the floor or against the wall
 Sit-ups

4. Body Movement
- A change in the position is termed as a movement. In our human body, it takes place
when there is any motion of a particular or a combination on body parts. In addition, we can
term locomotion as the movement which results in the change of position of the whole
organism.

5. Sedentary Living
- A type of lifestyle involving little or no physical activity. A
person living a sedentary lifestyle is often sitting or lying down while engaged in an activity
like reading, socializing, watching television, playing video games, or using a mobile
phone/computer for much of the day.

6. Health and Nutrients


- How food and drink affects our bodies with a special regard to the essential nutrients
necessary to support human health. These nutrients which are the source of energy for our
bodies are classed as carbohydrates, fats, fiber, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and water.
