LESSON PLAN IN T.L.E.

– EXPLORATORY DRAFTING
Week 8: March 16 – 20, 2020
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 60-minute lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Identify different line techniques,
b. perform the given line techniques, and
c. value the importance of knowing various line techniques.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Exploratory Drafting
Sub-topic: Lines

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings and Classroom Management
3. Attendance
B. Developmental Activities
Review of Past Lesson: Drafting Tools
Ask the students what they have learned about the topic yesterday.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
Show various types of lines to the students. Students will say what they observed
about the lines.
2. Presentation of the Lesson

Day 1

Lecture: Discuss lines and various artists that uses different line techniques on their
artwork such as Vincent Van Gogh and Albrecht Durer.

Day 2

Discuss and Demonstrate: Hatching, Crosshatching, Contour Hatching, Random


Hatching, Scumbling and Stippling. Students will perform sample of these line
techniques on a paper.

Ask the students to identify the following line techniques and explain based on their
own understanding.
Day 3

3. Application
Group work
Students will be divided into 6 groups: Hatching, Crosshatching, Contour Hatching,
Random Hatching, Scumbling, and Stippling.
Groups will be given 15 minutes to brainstorm ideas about their artwork using their
given line technique. They will be given 20 minutes to prepare, draw, and finalize
their artwork on a manila paper. The group representative will present and explain
their artwork in front of the class.
RUBRIC

EXCELLENT – 20 PTS
- Task is done creatively.
- All members of the group participated.
- The assigned line technique is evident.
- The explanation and presentation of output was smoothly delivered.
GOOD – 15 PTS
- Task is done.
- Most of the members of the group participated.
- The assigned line technique is somewhat evident.
- The explanation and presentation of output was delivered.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT – 10 PTS
- Task is done unprolifically.
- Most members of the group did not participate.
- The assigned line technique is not evident and unclear.
- The explanation and presentation of output was not delivered well.

Day 4

4. Generalization
Ask the students what they have learned from the discussion and activity regarding
lines.
Ask the students about the importance of knowing various line techniques.
Ask them what part of lesson that needs clarification.

IV. EVALUATION
Individual work. In T.L.E. portfolio, draw an artwork that incorporates the 4 values of lines:
shape, contour, texture, and tone. You can use any line techniques from what was discussed
or combination of those. Write one sentence for a brief explanation of your artwork.

- Line technique/s is/are evident.
- Neatly done and no erasures.
GOOD – 15 PTS
- Task is done.
- Incorporated most values of lines in the output.
- Line technique/s is/are somewhat evident.
- Neatly done and no erasures.Done with only few erasures.
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT – 10 PTS
- Task is done unprolifically.
- Incorporated one or two values of lines in the output.
- Line technique/s is/are not evident and unclear.
- Many erasure.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Read and research about sketching and sketching techniques.
