Linear Equations

A banca travels upstream at 6 km per hour and back to the starting place at 10 km per hour. The total journey takes 48
minutes. How far upstream did the banca rower go?

Jenny walked for 45 minutes at 3 km/h and then ran for half an hour at x km/h. At the end of that time she was 6 km
from the starting point. Find the value of x.

Two tanks contain equal amounts of water. They are connected by a pipe and 3000 liters of water is pumped from one
