THESIS ADVISING AGREEMENT

This is to certify that our signatures herewith signify that we agree to the following schedule to ensure the
successful completion of the thesis entitled ____________________________________________________

We understand that non-compliance to this schedule by (Name of student)_____________________________
______________________________________would mean a delay in his/her graduation. In case the Adviser
is separated from the University, the student will be assigned a new Adviser by the Undergraduate Committee
without prejudice to the student’s progress.

2nd semester, SY Application to potential thesis advisers.
2016-2017
Midyear term Start discussion of thesis topic with the Adviser and writing of thesis proposal.
(June – July 2017)
Registration period Submission of approved thesis topic and proposal to the Institute of Biology
for 1st semester, SY Office through the Registration Adviser; the student cannot enroll in Bio 200a
2017-2018 without the proposal endorsed by the Adviser.
1st semester , Implementation of research begins (procurement of supplies, setting up of lab
SY2017-2018 protocols, etc.) and actual field or lab experimentation (may start earlier
depending on the nature of experiment)
15 December 2017 Preliminary results available; Progress report submitted to the Adviser; basis
for grade for the 1st semester enrollment
January – February Continuation of field or lab experimentation; initial data analysis; draft write-
2018 up
Midsemester Experiments completed (on the administration side, no more permits will be
13 March 2018 issued to work on thesis except for valid reasons)
20 March 2018 First draft submission to the Adviser
20 April 2018 Adviser-approved manuscript submitted to the Examiner
25 May 2018 Deadline for submission of thesis manuscript to the Director's office
30 May 2018 Submission of bound & CD copies to the Dean's office
