Corrigan-Camden Elementary Walk-Through Feedback

Joan Niesen,

Thank you for letting me visit your classroom and learners today, 10/16/2019 10:45:11, during Whole Group
Math. Below you will find feedback and notes from my time spent in your classroom. It’s important to know that
all areas of our feedback form may not be observed during every visit. Because of this, some areas below may
be blank. Many times we are focusing on a specific area to provide targeted feedback.

Let me know if you have any questions about my visit.

Notes About My Visit

Classroom Environment  Classroom Management

Teacher moved around room to monitor (as appropriate)

The arrangement of desks allows for all students to focus

on the front but also allows for collaboration of groups. I
like it!

Classroom Culture  Student Engagement

Classroom has clear expectations present Regularly monitors the quality of student participation and
performance (TTESS 2.4)
I'm wondering if it would help to allow students to
collaborate when solving problems? Maybe think of pairing
students who can support others through the process.
Also, maybe adding extrensic factors (a skittle for correct
answers) would motivate mastery.

Student Grouping  Lesson Frame

Lesson is framed correctly, Lesson frame matches lesson
observed, Lesson frame matches the grade level TEKS

Level of Rigor  High Yield Strategies Observed

Recall - define, label, name, memory, Understand -
demonstrate, describe, review

Additional Comments or Questions

Would you say that the deficit in fact knowledge is your greatest barrier right now? What creative ways can we work
together to support this skill?

Brainstorming ideas while I'm sitting in your class-

Corrigan-Camden Elementary Walk-Through Feedback
Recognition of mastery of skills in Jump Start?
Creating class competition of mastery of skills?
