first private men’s salon to provide traditional barbering along with high-end male

The word “mensch” originally comes from the German word for "human being".
However, it is more commonly associated with having a Yiddish etymology meaning
someone you really like and admire, of noble character, rectitude, dignity, responsible,
and with a sense of what is right. The goal of Mensch Male Image & Grooming is to
have you looking and feeling like a mensch during your time at the salon, as well as
when you go through daily life with your new look.

Doron Bartfeld is the talent behind Mensch Studio With a keen eye for style and
precision, he has traveled the world in pursuit of the latest cutting techniques in order
to hone his craft and bring that expertise back to his clients in one of the most
fashion forward cities in the world, New York. In addition to traveling to further his
own education of the industry, Doron also ran a unisex salon in Bangkok, Thailand
for a number of years before moving back to NYC to set up his male focused
grooming studio. Doron specializes in a variety of hair textures and types, so is able to
customize the perfect look for you no matter what your background or past
difficulties you’ve had with your hair.

Services include gentleman’s cut, beard trim, face or scalp shave, or, a combination of
a gentleman’s cut and shave. With options that blend traditional barbering and high-
end male hairdressing, you can choose a classic look, or, opt for something more edgy
and contemporary. 

In addition to the cut itself, your time in the studio is its own full experience. With
only one client at a time, you will receive complete attention and focus. No one at
Mensch Male Image & Grooming is just another number. The studio itself is a gorgeous
rustic, industrial top-floor loft that overlooks Manhattan’s West Side. There are always
great beats, a relaxing environment, and complimentary coffee, soda, water, and (for

those of legal drinking age) a variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from. Doron
will also be sure to review tips and tricks for everyday styling so you can continue
looking like you just left the salon for weeks after your session.
