CHAPTER V: SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter deals on the summary, conclusion and recommendation of the study.

A. Summary

This study was entitled “ASDaC (Alternative Seed Dryer and Cleaner)”. The ASDaC has

the following major parts: drying area and the cleaning area and have a height of 55 inch and a

maximum diameter of 110 inch and has a total weight of 150kg.

Specifically, the researchers sought to know the significant difference between ASDaC

and Traditional Solar Seed Drying in terms of the acceptance of the product; the capacity of the

machine to dry and clean seeds; the efficiency of the machine; the life-span of the machine; the

time consumed to dry and clean certain amount of seeds; and the cost analysis.

The performance of the ASDaC was tested by different respondents who used the

machine. This also shows the ratings of the respondents which ranges to 4-very satisfactory, 3-

satisfactory, 2-good, 1-needs improvement.

The mean of the ASDaC and commercial seed dryer were 3.7 and 3.9 respectively.

Results revealed that there was no significant difference between the ASDaC and Traditional

Solar Seed Drying in tems of their acceptance. The table also showed that there was no

significant difference between the ASDaC and commercial seed dryer in terms of the cost or

savings.

Hypothesis test comparing two independent groups (t-test pooled variance) supported the

findings in the acceptance and cost or savings of the machine.

B. Conclusion

1. There is no significant difference between the ASDaC machine and traditional solar seed

drying in terms of acceptance. Therefore these two variables are both accepted by the

farmers.

2. There is no significant difference between the ASDaC machine and traditional solar seed

drying in terms of the cost or savings. Therefore these two variables are equal in terms of

efficiency in saving energy and money.

C. Recommendation

Based on these observations, the following suggestions are recommended in the

operations.

1. Construct an ASDaC machine with a bigger volume for more jobs to be done

2. Construct a drying machine that does not give off noise to the environment

3. Construct a ASDaC machine using a motor powered by electricity or gasoline.

Further, it is also recommended for the worker to wear safety clothing before operating

the machine.
