When the class was about to start I realized that the majority of the students were doing a
word search activity of geography, and I have to requested the students to stop doing the
activity because the English class is going to start, but some of them are reluctant to do it,
and it is a common behavior on each class, and I will talk with the mentor teacher about
that in the next session. After 5 minutes the class finally started and I called 5 students to
come to the board to practice the commands seen in last class, all of them want to
participate so I decided to make two rounds to give the opportunity to more students to
practice, also I evaluate the numbers orally, because I told the students that a quiz is going
to happen in this class, but they did not know how I will perform the evaluation, for that
reason I decided to do it in this way, avoiding perhaps stress or tension. I was surprised
After that I started with the new topic about school supplies, showing them the picture and
the name of the object, they know a lot of the objects I presented to them, if they did not
know the name, they make assumptions, making relations with the word in Spanish, for
instance with the picture of a book, they say “cuaderno” but other says: “no, no es un libro”
and immediately I say it is a book. After presenting the flashcards, I hide the name of the
object to check if they memorize some of them, and also I make a variation on my lesson,
after showing the picture I asked to the students to show me the real object from their
bags, and they love it, all of them participate actively without any disruptive behavior.
To end the class I delivered a word search activity, which some of the students finishes on
time and additionally to that, I asked to the students to search all the words in the
dictionary and write them down in their notebooks as homework for next class.
