    The teacher realized students were doing an off-topic activity when class was starting and had to ask them to stop. Some students were reluctant. The teacher then had students practice commands at the board and evaluated numbers orally to avoid stressing students about an upcoming quiz. Students knew numbers well up to thirty. The lesson then introduced school supplies vocabulary through pictures and real objects from students' bags, which engaged students actively without disruptive behavior. As a closing activity, students did a word search and were assigned to look up words in the dictionary for homework.

    Original Description:

    The aim of this class was to reinforce the topic of adjectives, I realized that I used too many adjectives and with pictures that are not engaging for them. So for this occasion I used images from the Sherk movie, bugs bunny and Garfield which are very popular among the kids. I started the class with the audio of the video that I presented last class, I decided to use the audio instead of the video because of the time that takes organize the students, and for the distraction of the outside noise

    Reflection #4

    When the class was about to start I realized that the majority of the students were doing a

    word search activity of geography, and I have to requested the students to stop doing the

    activity because the English class is going to start, but some of them are reluctant to do it,

    and it is a common behavior on each class, and I will talk with the mentor teacher about

    that in the next session. After 5 minutes the class finally started and I called 5 students to

    come to the board to practice the commands seen in last class, all of them want to

    participate so I decided to make two rounds to give the opportunity to more students to

    practice, also I evaluate the numbers orally, because I told the students that a quiz is going

    to happen in this class, but they did not know how I will perform the evaluation, for that

    reason I decided to do it in this way, avoiding perhaps stress or tension. I was surprised

    due to they know the numbers up to thirty.

    After that I started with the new topic about school supplies, showing them the picture and

    the name of the object, they know a lot of the objects I presented to them, if they did not

    know the name, they make assumptions, making relations with the word in Spanish, for

    instance with the picture of a book, they say “cuaderno” but other says: “no, no es un libro”

    and immediately I say it is a book. After presenting the flashcards, I hide the name of the

    object to check if they memorize some of them, and also I make a variation on my lesson,

    after showing the picture I asked to the students to show me the real object from their

    bags, and they love it, all of them participate actively without any disruptive behavior.

    To end the class I delivered a word search activity, which some of the students finishes on

    time and additionally to that, I asked to the students to search all the words in the

    dictionary and write them down in their notebooks as homework for next class.
