According to the oxford dictionary classical music is a serious or
conventional music following long-established principles rather than a folk, jazz,
or popular tradition. Classical music began life in the churches of Europe and
expanded as an art form in this arena.

Although the classical period started in 1750-1820 this was not the first type
of classical music. The classical music began in the 1600 during the Baroque
period. “The music is not in the notes but in the silence in between,” a famous
quote by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a famous classical music composer.

My studies have shown that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was one of the most
influential classical music composers. Wolfgang Mozart was taught at an early age
to play the keyboard and showed tremendous understanding to the instrument.
Although his first music was composed for the violin and clarinet, it did not stop
there. In my opinion, Mozart influenced the structure of classical music.

Mozart further went on to using numerous amount of instruments to

compose his music some of which are; piano, flute, violin, horn and many others.
"Clarinet Concerto" was created for an instrument called the basset clarinet, which
has a significantly lower range than a modern clarinet. "The Magic Flute,” was
composed for the flute along with other instruments and also on a vocal level.

Mozart made tremendous contribution to the development of the opera and

the piano concerto, he is also known as the inventor of the piano concerto. He
contributed to the classical era with over 600 individual compositions. ‘Dorsey
House of Music’ was one of Mozart’s great contributions to gospel music. Mozart
wasn’t the only composer who gave classical music a vital part in this world in fact
Ludwig van Beethoven was inspired by the works of Mozart.

Beethoven was a composer of classical and romantic eras in western music.

Ludwig van Beethoven was taught by one of the greatest teachers Christian Gotlob
Neefe , who helped him compose his first piece a set of keyboard compositions.
Beethoven created a lot of composition including Kurfürst which was created for
the piano. Ludwig composed numerous pieces using various instruments such as
the cello, piano and also the keyboard.
“Beethoven's greatest contribution to music was his transformation of the
sonata form, although rivaling that was his re-envisioning of the symphony into a
freer and more expressive form.” Beethoven made a marvelous and inspirational
contribution to the deaf society as a deaf composer making music through
vibration. There are a numerous amount of composers of classical music;
Alessandro Grandi was one of these composers which stood out to me.

Alessandro Grandi is an Iatlian composer of the Baroque era. His music

compromised of short passages of greatly contrasting rhythms and texture.
Alessandro early pieces were mostly duest and trios . Alessandro Grandi was
considered the most important Italian composer. He was a composer of mostly
vocal and choral music .

Alessandro Grandi composed pieces of numerous kinds such as “Amo

Christian” for vocals and violins and “Salve Regina” also for violins. ‘Alessandro
Grandi ceaselessly innovated, writing monodies with instruments such as violins,
and in a sectional form with repeating parts for instruments only—an idea which
would develop into the ritornello.’

Classical music in my opinion is a genre of music, which gives meaning to

music, at first classical music was always considered, as boring but it was before I
understood the true art of this music. A music of emotional impact on an
individual.

I have concluded that the greatest contribution of classical music and its
composer is giving an influential and motivational genre of music which will
always play a significant part in society today no matter the time or period in
which it was most popular. Classical music will always remain the mother of all
music as I consider it the base and foundation of a positive music.
