The document discusses MPT's use of satellite communications. It states that MPT uses Ku band, C band, and Ka band frequencies for communications, with Ku band and C band used for users. Ku band uses linear transmission while C band uses circular transmission. It then provides details on the frequency ranges and applications of Ku band and C band. The document also discusses that MPT currently uses the Thaicom 5 satellite, located at 78.5 degrees east longitude, to provide connectivity when terrestrial communications are not possible. It relays information on the satellite's orbit and how geostationary satellites can provide coverage to nearly two-thirds of the Earth.

Ku Band, C Band and Ka Band are mostly used in MPT
communications. Only Ku Band and C Band are used for user. Ku Band used linear transmission and C Band used circular transmission. There is x and y axis for linear transmission. Ku Band’s frequency range is between 12 to 18 GHz and wavelength range is between 2.5 to 1.67 cm. C Band can use in whole nation but it’s pricey. C Band’s frequency range is between 4 to 8 GHz and wavelength range is between 7.5 to 3.75 cm. Ku Band can use only in Yangon and Mandalay. Ku Band frequencies are 1772.375 MHz in Yangon and 1865.875 MHz in Mandalay. C Band can use in whole nation but it’s pricey. C Band frequency is 1803 MHz. Ku Band can’t use in some situations (example: raining, storm) while C Band can use in every situations. So for backup plan, Thanlyn Ku Band station branch is used. The communication tiles are far 50 miles from each other’s. If there is the place where can’t be used tile, they used satellite to connect. MPT is currently using IP star satellite which also called Thaicom 5 star. Thaicom 5 used to provide communications services to Asia, Africa, America, Europe and Australia. Thaicom 5 located at a longitude of 78.5 degree east for operational service. Thaicom 5 perigee and apogee are 35777 kilometers and 35796 kilometers. In satellite, there are three orbits. They are LEO (Lower Earth Orbit), MEO (Medium Earth Orbit), and GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit). GEO is currently used and it’s far 35785 km from earth. GEO can reached two third of the earth. Thaicom 5 is located at 120 degree east, C Band is located at 62 degree east and Ku Band is located at 64 degree east. Every user gets their own IP (Internet Protocol) address. For every communication, radio and television stations are regarded their own frequencies. THAICOM 5
