W. Morrison, Jr.
Cc: Julie Lea
June 8, 2020

Dear Mr. Morrison, Jr.,

Thank you for your response to our ‘recommendation’ letter dated June 7,
2020. While there is no official record stating that ‘Gigi Saak’ represents all the Float
Lieutenants, it is generally accepted that parties signing a letter, are in fact, in full
support of the letter’s content. These same Float Lieutenants were also cc’d on the
email to Mrs. Lea.

The ‘well-intended Facebook post’ that you reference, was anything but. In
fact, when Float Lieutenants Selena Boone and Stephanie Kreamer tried to help Mrs.
Lea after this post caused such uproar, and at her request, their efforts were
rebuked. Mrs. Lea informed Mrs. Kreamer that she would never put her name to
“Black Lives Matter”. You may feel that this is disproportionate to the facts and
events, but we as Sisters representing hundreds of Nyx members of color, see it
quite differently. In fact, many of us did our best to explain to Mrs. Lea the error of
her ways and how her response to her original post was critical and needed to
reflect support for the sisters who were hurting and suffering due to recent events
in our country, and that her post was insensitive and hurtful for so many reasons.

Further, Mrs. Lea stated at a Zoom meeting on Wednesday June 3, 2020 with
the Float Lieutenants, that she would not appoint black members to the Nyx Board
of Directors simply because they are black. She went on to say that she had “Four of
them” before and they didn’t work out, and it’ll never happen again. She actually
mocked us and laughed at our suggestion that she resign. This was witnessed by the
majority of the Mystic Krewe of Nyx Float Lieutenants.

Mrs. Lea continued to ignore all of our suggestions, (not bullying) and
continues to miss the point. Members have been leaving in droves. There have been
protests, negative news stories, anger and suffering. There have been threats to
those of us who tried to stay and make positive change, that if we rode, we would be
potentially harmed by parade-goers. Our riders are scared, appalled and saddened
by the turn of events. The situation has only gotten worse. And despite Mrs. Lea’s
predictions, it’s not going away.

We offered Mrs. Lea a chance to save her Krewe, and still be a part of the
legacy she created as well as its revenue stream. We acknowledge that Mrs. Lea’s
founding of Nyx and its growth was remarkable. However, her longstanding lack of
leadership, insensitivity and refusal to deal with the issues at hand in a reasonable
manner has caused irreparable harm. We can no longer in good conscience stay in
this Krewe with Julie Lea at the helm.

Therefore, we the undersigned resign our memberships in the Mystic Krewe
of Nyx effective immediately. As per your request, we will also send separate emails
with our individual resignations.

Sincerely,
