ROLE-PLAY CARD A

Preparation:

Read the following information. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Situation:

You and your friend are in charge of organising a summer barbecue to celebrate the end
of term and to raise money for the school. As many people as possible must take part.
Pupils, parents, friends and family will buy tickets for it, and the profit will go to the
school. Plan it now. Decide:

Where? (At school? A different place?)

When? (Weekend or school day?)

And make sure you talk about the following subjects:

• What kind of food will be provided?

• What kinds of drinks will be available?

• How and where will you advertise the barbecue?

• Will you have any other ways to make money there, for example selling raffle tickets?

• Who will help with the barbecue / cook the food?

• How much should the tickets be?

• What do you think the school will spend the money on?

• Should there be sweets and ice creams available at the barbecue? Are they an extra
cost?

• Should someone take photos for the school magazine?
