 Science is knowledge about or study of the natural world based on facts learned
through experiments and observation. So there were many intellectuals who made essential
contributions in science during the period of scientific revolution. It was a time in the history of
science where many scientific ideas and discoveries which were useful, were developed. There
also different parts of the world were science developed it includes Asia, Europe, Mesoamerica,
and Africa.
The development of science in Mesoamerica, there are three civilizations which
are: Maya, Inca and Aztec civilizations. Mayan inventions such as: Hydraulic systems, calendar
system, and the hieroglyphics writing system. Inca developed the, road, stone buildings,
irrigation system, calendar with 12 months, suspension bridge, quipu, and inca textiles. Aztec
some of their contributions are: mandatory education, chocolates, antispasmodic medication,
chinampa, calendar and canoe.
The development of science in Asia, there are great civilizations have stood out in
the field of science inventions: India, China, and Middle East civilizations. In India there are
known for manufacturing iron and metallurgical works, also famous in medicine the ayurveda,
and develop the Hindu- Arabic numeral system. Next is China, there are known for traditional
medicines. In terms of technology, were compass, papermaking, gun powder, and printing
tools. The Chinese were also known in seismology. Last is Middle East countries, there are
known in mathematics. Chemists and alchemists, also played an important role in the
foundation of modern chemistry.
The development of science in Africa , Africa is blessed with natural and mineral
resources. Egypt was known to be the center of alchemy, which is known as the medieval fore-
runner of chemistry. Astronomy was also famous in the African region. Mathematics was also
known to be the prominent in the life of early people in the African continent. The Lebombo
Bone, which may have been a tool for multiplication, division, and simple mathematical
calculation
Therefore, science inventions have a vital part in people’s lives. It helps them in
everyday life to make them life easier. Thus, science shapes society by influencing a society
through its knowledge and world view and by making the life healthy, efficient and faster. And
also society shape science because knowledge are evolve in the minds of individuals, which
they become curious and creative in thinking that’s why they developed and discovered many
things like technologies, tools and others.
