Welcome to the Microsoft Learning Partner Program!


You've taken the first step to increase the business value of Microsoft technologies by offering
training services to customers and partners. As a Learning Partner, you differentiate your
business and become eligible for benefits, training-use software, specialized content, software
assurance training vouchers, and more. This document and the checklist below will guide you
through enrollment and connect you with program resources. Let's get started!

Learning Program Enrollment Checklist:

 1. Review the Learning Partner Program Agreement (Guidelines) to understand the


requirements and benefits for being a Learning Partner. This document can be found on
the Learning Resources site and you’ll need to log in using your Microsoft Partner
Network (MPN) credentials.
 2. Enrolling into the Learning Option and become a Silver/Gold Learning Partner.
 3. Enroll into a Learning Action Pack and become a Learning Partner
 4. Request an account on Courseware Marketplace.
 5. Create a Marketing Profile on Partner Center Referrals.
 6. Software Assurance Training Vouchers (SATV)
 7. Get Acquainted with the Learning Resources

Enrolling into the Learning Option


To help you make the most of your MPN membership, we've grouped competencies into four
Solution Areas that align to your business needs. Choose a Solution Area and a Competency,
then enroll in the Learning Option if you have credentials that meet the competency
requirements.

1) Review the Solution Areas on the Microsoft Partner Network

✓ Choose your desired Solution Area

✓ Select a Competency

NOTE: As of March 2020 the following 14 competencies offer a Learning Option: Application
Development, Application Integration, DevOps, Cloud Platform, Datacenter, Data Analytics, Data
Platform, Enterprise Mobility Management, Windows and Devices, Cloud Productivity,
Collaboration and Content, Communications, Messaging, and Project and Portfolio.

✓ Click on Competency Details

2) In the requirements page, scroll down and expand Learning Option

✓ Review Learning Option requirements for Silver and Gold level


(Review the requirements section for each Competency that includes the
Learning Option as it may vary with competency.)

3) Find the benefits for a Competency and the Learning Option on the benefits section as
you scroll down in the respective page of the competency

4) Enroll into the Competency via Learning Option


Understand the requirements for Silver/Gold enrollment as outlined on the Competency
requirements section. To enroll:

✓ Log into Partner Center using your credentials


✓ Scroll to the right and click on Dashboard

✓ From the menu bar on the left, select Competencies

✓ Identify the competency you want to enroll Learning Option. Check the eligibility to
earn your membership in the chosen competency.

To qualify and enroll:

• Meet to the Performance Requirements outlined in the Learning Program


Performance Guidelines available on the Learning Resources site
• Meet the Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Requirements
• Meet the Exam Requirements

Note: if you don’t meet the requirements for the Silver Learning Option see the next section:
Enrolling into a Learning Action Pack.

✓ Navigate to the Membership Offers on the menu bar

✓ Select the competency level (Silver or Gold) and pay the Competency Fee

Note: If you have any issues with your enrollment you can reach out to a Regional
Service Center (RSC) for assistance.

Enrolling into a Learning Action Pack


The Learning Action Pack is the base level entry into the Learning Partner Program. If your
organization is new to the learning business and has not conducted any Microsoft Courseware
training, you will not be eligible for the Silver and Gold competency Learning Options.

Instead, Microsoft provides you the opportunity to enroll as a Microsoft Learning Partner by
purchasing the Learning Action Pack. The Learning Action Pack is designed to support partners
looking to provide training services and offers discounts on Courseware Marketplace and
benefits to help partners become experts across various Microsoft product lines. As you meet
Silver or Gold competency requirements, you’ll be able to upgrade.

Review the Learning Program Performance Guidelines document on the Learning Resources site
to understand the requirements and benefits for purchasing the Learning Action Pack and
becoming a Learning Partner

To purchase Learning Action Pack and enroll as a Learning Partner:

✓ Log into Partner Center using your credentials (click on Dashboard in the top menu)
✓ Scroll to the right and click on Dashboard

✓ Select Membership Offers from the Menu Bar on left

✓ Navigate towards the Microsoft Action Pack Subscription. NOTE: Prior to


completion of the transition you will have the ability to switch your option to
the “Learning Action Pack”. Making this change is required for Learning
program access. If you have accidently completed purchase of the Microsoft Action
Pack do not activate any benefits and contact the Regional Service Center for
assistance.

✓ Select Benefits from the Menu Bar and choose the Learning Action Pack
Subscription to enroll as a Learning Partner and enjoy the Learning benefits

Courseware Marketplace Account


Create an account on Courseware Marketplace. Within 48 to 72 hours after submitting the form,
you will receive an e-mail to activate your Courseware Marketplace account. After it is activated
visit Courseware Marketplace to purchase Official Microsoft Learning Products (OMLP).

Courseware Marketplace (CWMP) is a central platform providing all Microsoft


physical and digital Courseware titles and exam vouchers worldwide. Innovative
self-service capabilities and maximum process transparency make this online
portal the one-stop-shopping solution for all Courseware needs. For FAQs on

Partner Center Referrals


Create a Marketing Profile on Partner Center Referrals, designed to amplify customer leads
and business growth. Highlight your organization's strengths with a strong Marketing Profile.
Keywords entered by students are matched against the profile content providing a relevant list
of Learning Partners.
✓ Sign-in to Partner Center, from the Dashboard menu, select Referrals > Marketing
profile. Add a profile for each location you'd like to promote.
✓ Use marketing profile "nickname" to identify their unique set of profiles
✓ Logos can be uploaded in any size or disposition (horizontal or vertical). You can
submit different logos for each profile you create.
✓ Include information (up to 2500 words) about your company, including all ways to
contact, attributes that highlight your business expertise and a description that is
customer facing.
✓ Use your legal company name.
✓ Include the website URL in the web box.
✓ The email provided in the marketing profile will receive notifications when a referral
is available.
NOTE: Do not refer to another Microsoft partner name unless it is a legal affiliate, or
subsidiary, or you have an agreement to act in partnership and to promote shared
work opportunities.

Software Assurance Training Vouchers (SATV) – Retiring January 2022


Customers receive a number of training days based on the amount of their qualifying Microsoft
software licenses that are covered by Software Assurance. Customers can convert these days
into training vouchers to attend select eligible technical courses for IT pro and developer
training on Microsoft products, delivered by participating Microsoft Learning Partners. These in-
depth IT courses are designed to help your customers staff, deploy, manage, support, and adopt

Get Acquainted with the Learning Resources


All Learning option resources can be found on the Learning Partner page on MPN. Here you will
find marketing and readiness materials, enrollment guides, performance guides (KPIs), incentive
materials, videos, SATV resources and more. For quick access to the resources bookmark the
Learning Resources detail page. Searching is easy, just browse the left margin navigation bar to
find what you are looking for and click on the link, then download the materials.

Now that you are enrolled as a Learning Partner, take advantage of all the resources available to
help you stay updated on enhancements and other news that will help grow your business.
Sign-up for the Learning Partner Newsletter, join our Yammer community to get notifications
and ask questions, and follow the Microsoft Learning Community page to learn industry tips and
updates.

Learning Partner Incentive Program


Designed to accelerate adoption of strategic courseware and certifications, the Learning Partner
Incentive Program drive the latest Microsoft technologies while emphasizing the value of
electronic delivery of Microsoft Learning Products. Each new Incentive Program requires
separate enrollment for each participating location. Full program details can be found on the
Learning Resources site.

Microsoft Partner of the Year Award


Recognition, prestige, and opportunity for all Microsoft partners−the Microsoft Partner of the
Year Awards celebrate innovation. Winners and finalists are chosen each year based on a self-
nominating process by partners. Winners are celebrated annually at the Microsoft Inspire
conference. This is your opportunity to highlight your solutions built on Microsoft technologies
and show how they benefit our mutual customers. Receiving a Partner of the Year Award
positions your company for new business opportunities, generates positive press coverage, and
can lead to even greater market recognition. Look for an announcement in Spring, that the
Partner of the Year Awards nomination tool is open.

Enhance your Training Programs


Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs)
MCTs are the premier technical and instructional experts in Microsoft technologies. MCTs are an
exclusive group of Microsoft technical training professionals that receive exclusive benefits,
including access to the complete library of official Microsoft training and certification products;
substantial discounts on exams, books, and Microsoft products; readiness resources and access
to a members-only online community; and invitations to exclusive events and programs. Learn

trainers, but not Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs)? Get guidance on how to certify and

Need Some Help?


If a problem, or question, arises during sign-up, or at any other time, find answers via our
Regional Service Center for online support, chat, or give us a call. Remember to have ready your
MPN Org ID#, relevant Location ID#s, screen shots of your issue (if relevant), invoices, or other
supporting materials to speed up the discussion. Also, always remember to ask for an RSC Ticket # for
future reference of the specific transaction.
