Future tense

1. What does future tense express?

It is a verb form that normally marks the event described by the verb as not having
happened yet, but which is expected to happen in the future.

2. Which are the future tense forms?

There are two ways to make a simple sentence, using will and be going to.

3. Write are the future structures?


In making a positive simple future statement using "will" the pattern is
(Subject + will +verb in base form).
Negative sentence:
(Subject + will not/ won't + verb in base form).
Question.
Will + subject + verb in base form)

In making a positive simple future statement using "be going to", the pattern is
(Subject + am/is/are + going to + verb in base form).
Negative sentence:
(Subject +am/is/are not+ going to + verb in base form).
Question:
(Am/is/are +subject + going to + verb in base form).

4. Which is the difference between will and going to?

Will: It is generally used to talk about spontaneous decisions or facts that could
happen in the future.

Going to: It is generally used to talk about plans or intentions and premeditated
decisions to be made in the future.
