Integrated TNI System (Modified)

Drawbacks of the existing TNI system

1. Separate cycle for getting in training need inputs from employees and departments
2. Inputs fed by hardly 30% of employees and departments
3. Requires a lot of follow up from HRDC – wasteful of productive time
4. New training needs very few – mostly incremental additions over existing captured needs in
TNI

Salient points of the modified scheme

1. Training needs captured through BSC and eMap /ACR – no separate input cycle needed for
feeding inputs by employees.
2. Essential training needs to be given to specific employees to be fed into BSCs (Unit and
Dept.) by DROs, DTCs and DROs. Training topic to be specified along with staff no. who
needs to have the training. These would be cascaded down through eMap/ACR down the
levels up to the trainee through the hierarchy. This shall include trainings to fill competency
and skill gaps identified against an employee by the departments as well as certifications
like for crane operator, etc. Linkage from eMap/ACR with TNI to be provided to get list of
training programs. The intended employee has to complete such trainings and earn the
credits for himself and C.O. in turn earns his credits against subordinate development. The
training may be organized by HRDC or the dept. itself but the training completion data
needs to be shared with HRDC and posted to SAP TEM.
3. In eMap and ACR, each employee shall specify his own opted training program which would
be approved by his C.O. in eMap/ACR.
