Report Guidelines

Students are required to present a Report on the following topic:

“Demolition of Buildings within Urban Environment”

The purpose of this report is to overview the practices in demolition of buildings in United
Arab Emirates (UAE).
Discussion on:
- Introduction
- Reasons of demolition;
- Methods of demolition;
- Advantages and disadvantages of the different methods
- Applications;
- Construction codes;
- Design advantages;
- Functional advantages;
- Construction site advantages;
- Economic advantages;
- Application of these methods in United Arab Emirates (UAE)
- International practices and applications.
- Conclusion

For emphasizing the learning by doing and teamwork, students may group to a maximum of
5 /five/ students in each group to conduct the report.

The Assignment is divided as follows:

1- Report (10 - 12 pages)


The Report to be submitted on Thursday, 20.06.2020. (No late report will be accepted.)

Font size 12 is required to use beyond the cover page and the table of content page. Spacing
between lines should not be more than 1.5, except for headings or titles. Locate references in
the text as needed, and use the brackets to indicate these references. Label all the figures, and
graphs, do not present any figures without elaborating on it in your report.

A Safe Assign software will be used to check your report. No direct copying is allowed,
(Copy and paste from any source). You must use own English. If you are directly copying
from any source, and exceeding 25%, which will be identified by the Safe Assign software,
your report will be rejected with zero grade, and you will be panelize according to HCT rules
and regulations.

Example on references inside the body of the report:
