Slab on Grade and Slab Edges

Exercise 6-3
1. Start Revit 2018

2. Open the file Exercise 6-3.rvt

3. Go to 00 Ground floor plan view

4. Start Slab on Grade command, select Foundation Slab: 200mm Foundation

5. Hover over one of the walls (make sure you point to the outer edge of the wall)
press [Tab] key to highlight all chained walls, then click to select them all

6. From context tab, click ( ) to end the command. When the message comes up
answer No, then answer Yes

7. While the slab still selected click Temporary Hide/Isolate, and select Isolate
Element

8. Click anywhere to deselect the slab

9. Start Floor: Slab Edge, there is only one family

10. Hover over one of the edges press [Tab] key to highlight all chained edges,
then click to select them all

11. Click anywhere to end the command

12. Join Slab and Slab Edges

13. Click Temporary Hide/Isolate, and select Reset Temporary Hide/Isolate

14. Look at your model from 3D view, to see the new addition

15. Save and close the file
