“Setting out Right angles with tape

Computing angles from measured distance”

SUBMITTED BY: GROUP A2

2016-2017
First Experiment: Setting out right Angles

 Tools used
1. Tape
2. Pegs or Pins 5 needed
3. Hammer

 Calculation:

Measurements:
Point AB and CD = 15M
Point BC and AD = 10M
Change in X = 16 cm
Change in Y = 56 cm

Closer error = √ ( ∆ x 2 ) +(∆ y 2)

= 58 cm = 0.58M

Closure 0.58
Relative Error = ∑ length = 50 = 1:86M
 Discussion:
The Results for Relative Error are not acceptable since the
Minimum is 1:500 our results come’s to Few Reasons
1. The Soil we were working on was kind of moving
which made the pins move
2. The tape relative error 0.001mm per 1 meter
3. Human Error
4. The un even land we were working caused so issues
5. No Team Work

 Calculations:

AB = 4.3 M
BC = 5.10 M
AC = 5.39 M

AB2+ BC 2 −AC 2
β = cos
−1
2∗AB∗BC
= 69.37°

 Discussion
there should be no errors since this is Mathematically
based experiment
Second Experiment: Computing Angles

 Tools used are same as the first experiment are same

as the first one
