Also, the following mode is newly added in addition to the current trailing image mode

Details
The excessive current error during the cassette lift motor operation is now detected
sooner. Additionally, the C1010 error code will not display upon error detection.
Instead, a message prompting the user to reset the cassette will be displayed first.
The stress (load) to the cassette lift gear is detected sooner than before and by
resetting the cassette, the stress factor may be improved/reduced.

- If the excessive current is detected 3 times consecutively at 10 ms intervals, the
times consecutively at 10 ms intervals afterward, it is judged as an error.
- The C error code displays upon first error detection.

The developer fan control is changed as a part of environmental support in Europe (new BAM standards
compliance). With these changes, special attention is required when replacing some parts.

The following changes are implemented to change the developer fan control from the Fuser Thermistor Relay PWB
to the Engine PWB to support the European environmental standard (UFP compliance*).

Precautions when Installing a New Engine PWB in an old type machine

When Installing the new Engine PWB (No. 1~4) in the old-type printer, it is necessary to connect the new developer
fan relay wire at the same time as the developer fan control is changed with the Engine firmware upgrade to (Ver.
008.003).

Please connect the provided new fan relay wire with the developer fan connector and connector YC27 on the new

Contents
The following is changed to support AirPrint (VER1.2.1) for the Apple products such as
iPad and iPhone.
(AirPrint is set to On default ,after upgrading the firmware for the field machines, but it
may be set to Off depending on the certain Printer settings. Refer to the following
pages.)
The auto cassette change switch is implemented. (Auto cassette change itself is
supported since the 1st mass production and this time the switch is implemented)
･Print Setting > Auto Cassette [On/Off] Default: On
If the toner installation mode is executed with the main charger roller incompletely
installed, the main charge condition is not correctly recognized and toner supply is
continued causing contamination inside the machine and mis-sensing of waste toner
full. The following is changed.
1) When abnormal main charge level is detected when the main charge roller is
incompletely installed before the toner installation, the C5100 charger current error
is indicated and the toner installation is not executed.
2) The machine stops at once when detecting waste toner full in the toner installation
mode.
This is changed if the fuser high temperature error (C6020/C6120) is detected twice
and the fuser temperature is 100 degree C or more at the next power-up. The service
call error is promptly indicated and the machine is not recovered even after the main
switch off/on.
The time to change from the sleep mode to power-off may shift from the preset time if
the optional paper feeder PF-320 is installed.
This is corrected.
(Example) If the power-off time is set to 60 minutes after the sleep mode, the power
off may delay by 15 to 20 minutes.

Command Center RX Settings
When Printer Firmware is upgraded in the field, AirPrint will be ON (Enabled) by default in Command Center RX.

The AirPrint function is ON (Enabled) when all the following conditions apply after upgrading firmware. These settings are
changeable from Command Center RX if necessary.

AirPrint ON (Enabled)

Auto-IP=On (*1),
Bonjour=On (*1),
either IPP or IPP Security is enabled (*2)

AirPrint functions:

AirPrint=On (*3),
Protocol of either IPP or IPP security is allowed

AirPrint will be OFF (Disabled) after the firmware upgrade if one or more of the above conditions are not set as
shown. Check these settings if AirPrint is OFF after upgrading Firmware.

Setting to enable IPP/IPPS:

If you are using IPP (AirPrint is not encrypted),

IPP=On, Note: when IPP is ON, AirPrint cannot be turned OFF. Turning IPP OFF will automatically turn AirPrint
OFF.

(IPP Security=On and SSL=Off) Device works with IPP Only

If using IPP Security (AirPrint is encrypted)
