1. PURPOSE
As the entire installation has been commissioned and approved parts by parts according to the
works completion, these tests will be based on scenarios which will reflect as closed as possible to
the real situation.
The goal is to complete the testing for the 10 th of November, all the tests will be done with witnessing
of Optima-consultants and Client representative.
It will allow to track the data in order to have a database for the hotel’s maintenance team as per
reference.
All unfinished works or part of installation should be recorded in order to be able to track down the
state of completion of the hotel at the date of the test.
1. First scenario:
As it is not possible to simulate the breaking of some sprinklers, 3 fire hose reel will be used to spray
(the water consumption is higher with hose reel than sprinkler, it covers the worst case scenario).
The test will be done during 15 minutes on the electrical fire pump than power shut down from the
main city supply-> start of Genset -> verify that the electrical fire pump still run and record the data.
In order to do the test the electric load need to be as close as the maximal capacity for worst case
scenario
70 % of room with AC on
One Electric oven in kitchen on
Exhaust air in kitchen on
2. Second scenario:
Fire in the Lobby, as it may the worst case scenario because 3 fire hose reel will be used to spray (the
water consumption is the highest, it covers the worst case scenario), the purpose is to test the running
time of the diesel pump and capacity of the pool to supply water for fire system.
The swimming pool need to be filled as normal, (if the test above is done, the pool’s level of water
need to be checked)
The test will be done during 1 hour on diesel fire pump, to verify that the diesel tank size is let the one
hour run, that the water storage of the swimming pool is enough for the one hour test.

This test will be followed by the water supply pool refill test (test1)
B. Emergency Lights
All Lighting as normal operation, no breaker down (note which lighting breaker are off)
Test to be conducted:
Open tap in 15 rooms and verify that the pressure in the higher point of the water supply network still
within the specifications, record pressure in pump room 1.5bar.
Testing 2:
The design is planned for having 10m3/ h at the same time so it will be equivalent to 30 tap (all
shower head) opened at the same time, wait 15min, two pump run(20m3/h@1.6bar).
Test to be conducted:
Open tap in 30 rooms and verify that the pressure in the higher point of the water supply network still
within the specifications, record pressure in pump room 1.2bar.

E. AC verification
Scenario 6
During the electrical load test
Monitor and record the temperature in each room after 30 minute running the AC then 1 hour after.
F. Fire alarm
To check that the whole building is on, each level will have some random some detectors activated,
all critical rooms (Genset, Main switch Panel, data center, Kitchen, fire pump room) will be tested
The alarm bell will not be disconnected, so a resource will stay near the alarm panel to acquit the
alarm.
H. Elevators
Verify under fire alarm system that the elevators are going to the lobby level (ground floor) and
doors remaining opened.
I. Lightning testing
Verification that the continuity from earth pit up to roof is ok, than proceed to test with test
equipment, provide necessary report.

City power shut down/ backup by Genset.
We let run the load that we could obtain from 2h 20 Pm up to 3h50 pm.
Conclusion:
The maximal load test can be considered as successful even some equipment were not yet
connected (open kitchen mainly), the spare load remaining on the MBD panel or the genset will cover
these untested yet loads.

Conclusion:
The maximal load test has been conducted for the AC system as many rooms were not closed
properly, doors kept opened, or windows found not closed, or missing while running the test.

As we run this temperature monitoring at the same time than the electrical load test, the choice of
trying to reach the maximal electric load was made.
When all the rooms linked to one VRF air conditioned system were found in normal conditions (doors
closed, windows closed) the set-point temperature can be reached and maintained.
Unfortunately many rooms were under cleaning process or finishing work, and when an AC system
encounter such load, it cannot bare the demanding load and the temperature are not obtained.
I would highly suggest to complete the remaining installation of curtains and having a normal cleaning
operation on rooms before doing another survey.
I would also suggest to train hotel staff to the risk of damaging the painting in rooms by letting the
doors opened too long while A/C is running, risk of condensation is high.

- Lifts under fire alarm are going to the 8thfloor, need to be tested again.
philosophy to be programmed (in accordance with the hotel management):
- if fire alarm occurs lifts to go down to level 0 as preferred level for evacuation
- if Client wants to stop on any other levels they can
- lift will stop and remain at this level with opened doors.
- Need to define a backup preferred level for evacuation for lifts if fire occurs at level 0.
Proposed level 1, this needs to be programmed in fire alarm panel and in lift management
controller (or similar)
Conclusion:
No major problem have been encountered with the fire alarm panel during the test
The hotel management has to review the room description list, to identify, eventually, some
description which may vary between fire alarm set up and the usage of the room by hotel, this is only
for implementing the fire response time.
The lift interface between fire panel and lift controller need to be set to the description above.
