APPLICATION FOR STUDENT AIDE - EDUCATION PATHWAY PROGRAM

When you have completed this form, and received the required signatures from the teacher and your parent, please return it to Mr.
Klute. This form must be complete and have all necessary signatures to be considered. A completed application does not guarantee a
placement.

In order to be a student aide at HPS, a student must meet the following qualifications.
● The student aide must:
○ Be a junior or senior on track to graduate.
○ Have no more than 10 absences in the previous school year.
○ Have a teacher that is willing to have an aide in his/her room.

While working for a teacher:

● The student aide will arrive on time and with a positive attitude. Tardies will be reported to the office.
● The student aide will be doing things that the classroom teacher requests. It is an expectation that you will do these things
willingly.
● This is NOT a study hall. The student aide is to be with the teacher at all times. This is NOT a time to ask to go somewhere
else to complete a personal task.
● The student aide in the program will be working with younger students - demonstrate professional standards.
○ Dress appropriately.
○ Respectful behavior to adults and students at all times.
○ Do not bring food, drink or gum into the classroom.
○ NO CELL PHONES!
● The student aide will not be allowed to grade papers or enter grades into Powerschool.
● The student adie will keep information confidential - do not discuss events or interactions that occur in the classroom with
others.
● The student aide will demonstrate a positive attitude and accept constructive criticism.

~ Student aides who do not meet these expectations will be dismissed from the

Education Pathway and placed in an elective class. ~
