Job Summary:
Technical Officer (Laboratory Services) provide technical and programmatic support to implement FHI 360/GF high quality
laboratory services of HIV/AIDS, PMTCT, TB, HCT and other services within state of assignment and L.G.A. level including
adherence to good clinical laboratory practice (GCLP), National policies and guidelines. S/he also is responsible for providing in
addition to Laboratory Services in HIV service delivery in the state; i) monitor the infection prevention and control practices at
the supported ART and PCR labs, and (ii) provide real time support. S/he will be domiciled in a state within the 6 geopolitical
zones and ramp up/ support the set up and maintenance of IPC practices in supported laboratories to prevent exposure of
facility staff to COVID 19 consequent upon their jobs. In the PMTCT catch up plan states (Edo, Delta, Borno, Benue, Imo and
Anambra states), s/he will serve as a roving EID sample collector in hard to reach areas.
Qualification
• Medical laboratory scientist with Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences with a minimum of 1 year post
national youth service experience in laboratory services on laboratory management of HIV/AIDS with provision of
PMTCT, TB and PEPFAR program.
• Medical laboratory scientist a bias for infection prevention and control (IPC) especially experience working in a BSL 3
laboratory/ practices (previous work on highly infection organism laboratory like Lassa, MDR-TB, Ebola etc.).
• Certification / license to practice as a medical laboratory scientist is a plus. Familiarity with Nigerian public sector
health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 1-year Post graduation/NYSC Experience is desirable
• Analytical Skills
• Good knowledge in HIV data management
• Ability to carry out data analysis.
• Willingness to travel at short notices
