COURSE NAME: SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
SEMESTER/ SESSION: SEMESTER 2, SESSION 2019/2020
TASK:
A local developer is planning to develop a sports arena. The sports arena is also expected to comply
with the Green Building Index requirement. The selected project site is near a university and
surrounded by residential housing. You and team were assigned to:
1) Identify and review the potential implication of this project towards local community,
environment and economy holistically.
2) Propose and discuss the practical sustainable strategies that could be adopted throughout
project lifecycle to achieve the project objectives successfully. You may use knowledge on the
principle of sustainable development that you have learned.
3) Justify and hypothesize the applicability of the proposed sustainability strategies by referring
to the multiple case study on relevant construction projects.
4) Prepare a comprehensive report for item 1, 2 and 3.
5) Develop a short (3-5minutes) video to promote the sustainable construction practices. The
content of the video should include item 1, 2 and 3. Then, post your video in any social media
platform to spread the awareness. So, be creative!
