OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
(Descriptive Title)
1st Semester, A.Y. 2021-2022
Mission of the University : The University shall primarily provide advanced professional and technical instruction for special purposes, advanced
studies in industrial trade, agriculture, fishery, forestry, aeronautics and land – based programs, arts and sciences, health
sciences, information technology and other relevant fields of study. It shall also undertake research and extension
services and provide progressive leadership in its areas of specialization.
Goal of the University : The University shall produce scientifically, and technologically oriented human capital equipped with appropriate
knowledge, skills, and attitudes. It shall likewise pursue relevant research strengthen linkages with the industry,
community, and other institutions and maintain sustainable technology for the preservation of the environment.

3. Perform basic management functions such as planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.

5. Create a list of current business trends that have an impact on operations management.
Course Description : This course provides the student an overview of the operation management of manufacturing and service
industry. It covers the concept, procedures and practices, and technologies used in designing and managing
the different department in its operational processes in service-oriented organizations, with emphasis on
informed decision-making and the use of analytical tools.
Course Learning Outcomes : At the end of the course, the students can:
1. Recognize an integrated framework for strategic decision making in order to analyze the business as a
whole with a specific focus. (PO1 and PO2)
2. Identify the operational and strategic core features of the operations and production management
function, particularly the relationship between people. (PO1, PO2, PO3, PO3, PO4, PO5)
