The 2019–20 Premier League is the Premier League's 28th season and for the second
year in succession, Manchester City is the defending champions. The games played on the same
day will have separate slots of time, so that the games will not overlap. The video assistant
referee review system (VAR) was introduced in 2019–20. In the league, twenty teams compete–
the top 17 teams from the previous season and the three teams promoted from the championship.
The teams promoted are Aston Villa, Norwich City, Sheffield United and. After three years '
absences, Norwich City and Aston Villa return to top-flight while Sheffield United returns after
a 12-year absence. We substitute the city of Cardiff, Fulham and the town of Huddersfield.
This season's first match on 9/8/2019 refereed by M Oliver featured Liverpool who
defeated Norwich by 4-1 and also Liverpool is at the top of the points table. Ironically, Norwich
is at the bottom of the table. Crystal Palace and Everton had a drawn match in which J Moss was
the referee on 10/8/2019. Moreover, the match between Arsenal and Tottenham was a draw (2-2)
on the eve of 1st September of 2019. Leicester City smashed the Premier League record on 25
October 2019–as well as the all-time English top-flight record–for the highest away league win
and equaled the biggest ever Premier League win when they beat Southampton 9–0 at St Mary's
The last of the decade's Premier League match on December 29 saw Manchester City
beat Sheffield United. The 2-0 victory in the 2019-20 table left Pep Guardiola's side 14 points
behind Liverpool champions. Nine matches were being played on New year’s eve in which two
of the matches results in a draw, yet Aston Villa, Leicester, Southampton, Watford, Man City,
West Ham, Arsenal able to win their matches and S Attwell, M Oliver, M Atkinson, M Dean, A
Madley, A Marriner, J Moss, G Scott, C Kavanagh was on duty during these nine matches.
