STAGE 1: Starting Point (10%)

Activity 1
1. Click the promotional video about Rio Olympic Games 2016.
2. Answer the following questions related to what you watched :
• How many countries participate in Olympic Games?
• How many days of competition do the Olympic Games have?
• How much time of training do sportsmen and sportswomen have before going to Olympic Games?
3. Create a list of all the sports you watched and group them into: Water sports, Air sports, Floor sports, and
Mixed.

STAGE 2: Research (40%)

Activity 1
Find the Spanish meaning of the sport equipment, add a picture of the equipment and add the name of the
sport each equipment belongs to.

Activity 2
Do you know what adjectives of quality are? One of this unit’s learning objectives is to be able to describe
sports, therefore we will need to acquire more sport vocabulary.
1. Search the internet for English adjectives of quality you can use to describe sports and equipment. Write
down at least 20 adjectives. In links you can find some sources of information with the name of “Adjectives
1” and “Adjectives2”.
2. Choose 5 sports (if you want to you can select them from the video watched before) and describe them in
simple sentences using adjectives of quality.

Example: A Helmet is an excellent piece of equipment to prevent injuries.

Follow the link “Possessive case” and research about the use of possessive case:
1. Write in your own words the difference between possessive case in singular and plural.
2. Write 4 examples for each case.

apply knowledge acquired in prior stages.

STAGE 4: Relation (20%)

Activity 1
1. Choose one of the sports you worked on in this unit and that you considered attractive to describe. It is
essential for you to apply all knowledge you have learned from the Physical Education subject.
2. Shape the sport chosen in a product created by you. It can be pictures, flashcards, a model (maqueta),
etc. In this product you must represent the sport and its equipment. You can also include players or
competitors, spectators, judges or referees, a scorekeeper, and the place it where it is played like a court,
track, speedway, etc.
3. While presenting, you have to describe the sport, its objective at practicing it, the place where it´s
practiced and the equipment used by using vocabulary and techniques learned in the unit.
