Family life in the future

Te world we live in seems completely normal and what we do seems logical and
correct. However, everything that is normal now was different in the past.
According to the Sociology Professor Pepper Schwartz, family, love and relationships
will change drastically. In 90 years, technology will have changed our lives so much that
social constructions will be diferent. Families will become androgynos. Household task
will no longer be one person´s job solely based on gender. That is, men will stop being
who provide to the family on their main breadwinner in less than century. Men and
woman wil take care of the house and work to earn money.
Schwartz says that there will be many cases of subrogation, in addition to women who
can´t have children due to natural causes, woman a very good income will avoid having
many pregnancies. The options may be to have children outside of the mother´s womb.
This will help elimanate the idea of woman as more responsible for children than the
father.
Thanks to scientifics advances there will be fewer cases of children with physical or
mental defects because it will be detected and corrected before delivery. Divorces cases
will still be common. The cups of these will rise and fall depending on the economy. The
life expectancy will be higher, and the average person will have aproximately 3 marriages
during their life. The cost of living will rise a lot, that will make it almost impossible for
families to have a house for themselves. Also, raising children will be very expensive. so,
the state will have the provide a subsidy for education. Only very poor and very rich
people will have more than two children.

I do believe that some of the predictions are true since in this century, the
decisions of couples are in favor of their progress, the more economic benefits
they have the better the life situation, now they think about the emotional and
economic well-being of each one of them. Each one is directed to their
progress.
d. Are some of these predictions impossible?
The prediction of pregnancy outside the womb is one that is almost impossible
to develop. But there is no doubt about the technological advance and who
knows that they can happen in 20 years.

The world in 2050

Scientist already know for sure what will happen in the future. Compare your
predictions about the future with the experts predictions. Were your guesses it rigth?
One important change in the future will be the temperature. Scientist say that by 2050
the planet will have a temperature increase of 3 to 4° C. It seems like nothing, but it will
have enormous effects in the ecosystems. Researchers analyzed greenhouse gas
emmisions and not even the most optimistic scientist´formulas result in such a low
percentage.
By 2050, the sea level will be 25 centimeters higher. With higher temperatures, the
defrosting process in Antartica will become twice a fast. The glaciers are going o melt.
This will result in an increasement in the sea level. Scientist´s calculations say it will
increase 50cm by 2100. Another consequence will be the floods. The likelohood of
flooding in coastal towns will rise more than nine times. The economic losses will be
greater than 50 billion dollars.
The growth of the himalaya will be another change. In 2050 the highest mountains
range is going to be 165 millimeters higher due to the movement of Indian plate below it.
The nearby towns are worried about the possibility of earthquakes in the area.
Eating fruits and vegetables is going to be difficult. There won´t be enough crops to
meet the world demand. There will be serious consequences for species such as birds.
Scientist says that in 2050 , 99% of seabirds will have eating plastics.

What changes will be there in the field of education?
Tecnology advancesat giant steps. Since the creation of the internet in the 60s, the
world has seen unimaginable changes. Tody the whole world is connected in real-time.
There are new inventions every year and makes artifacts that where cutting edge
tecnology obsolete. Some of the objects tht will become obsolete in 2020 are some
products and practices related to education. First, desks because new education models
and approaches say that community work, like sitting together or any evironment that
allows a more collaborative dynamic promotes.
Second are the famous language labs for language learning. Future learners will stop
using monitors and desk and replace them with more convenient devices such as phones.
Nowadays we can learn languages with apps on the phone. Maybe even books will be
replaced by apps in the future.
Third is the computer. The objective of education won't be for students to spend hours
in front of a book, instead they will use elements that have more presence in their life
such as platforms, apps or program that make learning more meaningful and life related.
Finally, in the future, teachers whos can´t use technology in their classes will become
obsolete. Those whose can´t, unfortunately , will stop being attractive to educational
institutions.
