II. Objectives and Expected learning outcomes:
1. Course Objectives:
The course aims to help students sharpen their listening skills and practice listening strategies to
different types of tasks in IELTS test. After the course, students can communicate actively and
effectively in most daily practical, social and academic situations, understand important detailes
in both daily and academic contexts. The course also aims at providing appropriate listening
strategies for students to apply effectively in their listening test. Besides, tudents can apply note
taking skills to apprehend long academic lectures.

III. Course description:


The course consists of 08 chapters covering 8 most common academic topics in IELTS test. The
course also offers effective strategies to use in different listening tasks in IELTS with real test
practices. Online test bank is utilized to get students used to the IELTS listening format and get
them sharpen their listening skills. The combination of 3 coursebooks provides students with

various exercises for an intensive listening course. Groupwork is also applied to develop students
speaking and teamworking skills.
