AUTOMATIC WATER TAP CONTROLLING SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION:

This is a simple, economical and versatile automatic water tap controller

circuit switches on the tap water when it senses any human being. It makes our
wash place tap work automatically when we put our hands just below the water
tap outlet. This infrared based system detects any interruption of the IR rays by
our hands or utensil and water automatically starts flowing out of the tap.

DESCRIPTION:

The circuit is build around a IR transmitter and receiver sections where the
IR rays are emitted continuously from the transmitter to the receiver. As soon as
any obstacle comes in between the receiver and the transmitter, interrupting the
IR rays, the output of the IR sensor goes low momentarily to trigger the timer
circuit in the receiver and water comes out of for a preset period of time. During
this period, energisation of the solenoid valve fitted in the pipe to let water flow
out of the tap.Solenoid valves are used specifically for these purpose.

When we put our hands between the IR led and IR sensor, the relay energizes to
make the solenoid open up the valve and water flows out of the tap.
