Dear Friends,

Here are some facts which prove whether we are industry ready or not?

 Only 46.2% of Indian students are employable according to

the Indian Skills Report.
 80% of engineering graduates are not fit for jobs...
Sadly, we lack the right skill set and experience required by the
industry.
So , What's the solution???..

INTERNSHIPS !!!
Let's go step wise...

Considering you have a skill set, be it programming, be it singing, sketching etc, all of these skills
carry a value with them .It all depends how intensely you are dedicated to your skill set in terms
of improving, updating and most importantly applying it.
The ground reality is ,

1.Today, employers favor prospective employees who have done

not only one internship but multiple internships.
2. A college degree in reality is just a way to get entry into the
market so that we can say that we are eligible for getting a
graduate job.
So, just to give you an overview of the basic types of internships...

Internships too are of two types :

a. Paid - We need to pay to do get industry experience and work in industry projects. This is in
general is a new fashion which has started in the Ed-tech space where an institute claims to
provide you with an hand-on project .
b. Non-Paid -We don't need to pay for these internships to work on real time projects. The
company rather admits you for the internship on the basis of screening rounds and tests.Having
said this, we have two more types to Non-Paid internships--

1.Stipend based - These internships provide you with a certain amount of money for the
work you do and the value you bring to the firm along with an experience certificate.

2. Non-Stipend Based- These don't pay you money as such but do provide you with an
experience certificate and letter of recommendation or a Pre -Placement Offer(PPO) in case of
exceptional performance during your tenure.

This Post is mainly for all those ,who have just started their journey into exploring their right
place in the industry.

I really feel that we lack awareness about the industry standards and their
expectations when it comes to appearing for a job. Being socially connected is just a part
of being involved, we will learn only when we engage ourselves in to our purpose we
work for and problem we are trying to solve.
So, naturally ,our first question is -"Where do we get internships???", an
obvious question..Right!!
