Lesson Plan in Grade 7

I. Learning Objectives
At the end of the period, the Grade 7 students should be able to:
1. Enumerate the various meaning of love
2. Express their own experiences about love
3. Use context clues in order to find the meaning of the word

1. Do you cherish the things or the people you love?
2. How do you treasure the love of another person for you?
3. If love was an object (for example a key) where will you keep it and why?
D. Activity
The teacher divides the class into four groups. Each group is given cut pieces of paper.
Using the cut pieces, the groups need to form a heart. There will be a certain piece that will not
fit the heart. Each group will search for the missing piece that can only be found from the other
group. After completing the heart, they will shout, “I’m no longer broken-hearted. My heart is
now whole and I’m ready to love,” while smiling.

E. Procedure
The teacher presents the poem entitled Bonsai by Edith Tiempousing PowerPoint
presentation. The teacher asks the students to read the given poem.
After reading the essay, the teacher asks the following questions:
1. What is a bonsai?
2. What does the poem talks about?
3. What can you say about the poem? Share your ideas with the class.
4. What do you understand from the 1st stanza of the poem?
