Lesson Plan in Grade 10

I. Learning Objectives
At the end of the period, the Grade 10 students should be able to:
1. Define what a myth is
2. Express appreciation on the values present in the myth entitled “Orpheus”
3. Supply the empty boxes with the appropriate word based on the story presented

1. Do you know what a myth is?
2. Have you read a story entitled “Orpheus”?
3. Do you want to know what this myth is all about?
D. Activity
The teacher presents an activity called the “Express, Speak and Listen Myth Game” or the
E.S.L Myth Game. In this game, the teacher divides the class into four. Then, the teacher posts
pictures of cartoon faces that consist of two girls and two boys having different expressions.
Each group is represented by a certain cartoon face. Each cartoon face has its own name. The
happy boy is Perseus, the crying girl is Medusa, the angry boy is Hercules, and the flirty girl is
Aphrodite. Whichever face the teacher points, the group needs to speak its name with the
expression the cartoon face has.
E. Procedure
The teacher presents first names of famous Greek gods and goddesses such as Zeus,
Hera, Persephone, Eurydice and Orpheus. Afterwards, the teacher presents and reads the story
using the prepared visual aids.

F. Evaluation/ Assessment
Directions: Supply the empty boxes with the appropriate word. Write your answers on a ¼ sheet
of paper.
