A. Province and Capitals

Iloilo City is on Panay Island in the Philippines. It's known for its Spanish colonial churches and
old houses. On Jaro Plaza, Jaro Cathedral has a shrine to the local patron saint, Our Lady of the
Candles. Nelly’s Garden is an iconic 1920s mansion. Museo Iloilo explores local history. The
Iloilo Esplanade is a pathway along the Iloilo River. To the west, the 18th-century Miagao
Church has an ornate sandstone facade.

B. Population

Iloilo's capital is Iloilo City, though the city itself is independent and not governed by the
provincial government. According to the 2015 census, the population of the province
(excluding Iloilo City) is 1,936,423. If Iloilo City is included, the population is 2,361,042 in
total.

in Iloilo City, Iloilo, on the island of Panay in the Philippines.

Museo Iloilo, located along Bonifacio Drive in Iloilo City Proper, is the first gov’t sponsored

sculpture; and modern art done by Ilonggo artists and craftsmen.

Camina Balay nga Bato Built in the 1860’s, Camiña Balay nga Bato is one of the best heritage
attractions in Iloilo. This ancestral house has been passed on to three generations and its
imposing structure shows that each generation has done a great job in preserving its treasures.
B. Major Products

Iloilo is historically one of the major agricultural centers of the country exporting sugar, copra,
bananas, mangoes, and other natural resources during the Spanish and American colonial
periods. Rice is the major crop in the province of Iloilo.

C.Foods
Laswa (Vegetable Soup)
This Ilonggo favorite is a delicious medley of vegetables and shrimp. It's the perfect way to change
up the way you have your veggies.

Kansi Recipe

The indulgent beef bone marrow and the vibrant taste of sinigang. We have to really thank the
Ilonggos for this one.

La Paz Batchoy

The rich pork broth and the silky noodles coming together make up the perfect comfort food.

Bangus Inasal

Inasal is for more than just your chicken. Give your bangus the same distinct flavors.
