I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Understand the nature and characteristics of the tools and trends in ICT;
b. Determine and assess the pros and cons of ICT tools and trends on the varied
areas of human life through brainstorming;
c. Exhibit a wise and positive mentality in utilizing technology through a minute
paper. ;

A. Preparation
 Classroom Management
Class, before we start, kindly pick those pieces of papers, candy wrappers and arrange
your chair please.

Now, let us all stand and let us pray
Heavenly Father, You hold each of us in your loving hands. Come fill our hearts, minds
and bodies afresh with hope. Help us to cast our worries upon you, so that we can
embrace our learning today. Bless us as we study and grow together.
Lord, watch over us all, keep us safe within your Almighty hand. Amen.

 MOTIVATION
The teacher will let the students watch a documentary about an important tool in
Information communication technology – the internet.

Possible questions on *Motivation:

1. Why is the internet important?


Possible answer: Without it sir a lot of inconveniences will occur
in our comfortable and instant lifestyle
2. As a user what inconveniences would it bring on you?
Possible answer: Answer of the student may vary
3. Would you survive years without internet?
Possible answer: Depends on the answer of the student.
4. What possible aspects may be affected in your schooling/studying
if the internet flat lined?
Possible answer: Of course the source of our information sir and
sources, research may be harder, economics and trade may be more
difficult, assistance coming online may be forever be forgotten.

Possible questions on the lesson:

1. What ICT tools do you use everyday?


Possible answer: Possibly Smartphones and computers.
Follow up: To what purpose do use them?
Possible answer: Sir for further studies, resources and mostly
entertainment.
2. If you could talk to one of our telco companies what would you
say?
Possible answer: One mode of communication is the internet, when
the internet is slow, hassle follows.
3. In what ways does this mode of communication benefit us?
Possible answer: In many ways possible, and all aspects possible,
sir anything that we can think of it is in the internet which is more
available to us at the tip of our fingertips compared to that of
before.

innovation, there may be consequences. Can you site some

 INTERACTION. After which, the teacher will group the class into 4 and designate their
group by a technological tool pertinent to our lifestyle today.

After the discussion, the teacher will then ask the students to decide which aspect or tool
is more important. A discourse is likely to happen. The teacher will be expected to be the
mediator between the groups to avoid serious and unnecessary conflict.
After the small discourse the teacher then will hand the students their materials as stated
below, the students will answer the given material as the discussion is going. They will
be given 3 minutes per group after the discussion to present their conclusions.

The students will be given 1 – 3 minutes to deliberate their answers and let them present
their work for 3 minutes to the class. After which a discourse is likely to happen.
After the discussion on each side, the students will now conclude whether these ICT tools
has good or grave effects on our daily living.
E. ASSESSMENT
Minute paper
The teacher will ask the students to bring out a ¼ paper divide it into 2 columns and write
their personal encounter of the pros and cons of using our internet and other ICT tools.
F. SYNTHESIS
3-2-1 technique. Ask one student to identify 3 things he/she have learned, 2 experiences
that he/she personally encountered in relation to the topic, and leave or ask 1 question to
the class.
F. ASSIGNMENT
Prepare a gadget that is the most convenient thing you use every day (excluding
smartphones) and prepare a small description on the said gadget and the benefits of using
it.
