Tech Issues & Troubleshooting

FAQ
Hi There!

Thank you so much for investing in my resources. I never want tech issues to get in the way of
you using my resources in your classroom! I’ve compiled a list of the most common tech
questions, issues, and possible solutions to help you get the immediate help you need. Before
reading ahead, please note the following:

 Please know that it is against TPT’s policy to leave reviews based on tech issues. They will
be removed.
 Please try the solutions below. If none of the solutions work for you, please email me at
mrspinteractiveclassroom@gmail.com and I will be happy to assist you. If I do not
respond within 24 hours, I am probably on maternity leave. Please direct all tech issue
questions to TPT and they will troubleshoot with you. Use this contact form.
 This FAQ was written in November 2o20. There may be updates and more solutions that
have arisen since that time. For an up-to-date version of this document, please click here
and an updated Google Doc version will appear for your viewing.

Tech Issue/Solution FAQ

1. I cannot open the folder I downloaded from TPT. There’s an error message
that pops up instead. Why can’t I open the folder?
Answer: The most common issue is that the folder comes in a zip file. TPT requires
sellers to use zip files when selling more than 1 file in a resource. The solution is to right-
click on the folder and “unzip” the folder. That will allow you to access the files in the
resource.

2. I cannot open a PDF or nothing shows up when the PDF opens. Why can’t I
see the PDF?
Answer: Please know that I have checked and double checked all of my resources on
multiple computer types and there are no blank PDFs on my end. The problem is usually
with Adobe. You will need to make sure you’ve downloaded the most recent free version
of Adobe Reader. Here’s a link to help you. If the problem persists, try restarting your
computer after downloading the latest version of Adobe. You can also try re-downloading
the file from TPT. Be sure you’ve unzipped the folder (see FAQ 1 above).

3. When I try to print or open a PDF, it asks me for a password. What’s the
password?
Answer: None of my resources require a password to print or open a PDF. Again, the
issue is probably with Adobe. You will need to make sure you’ve downloaded the most
recent free version of Adobe Reader. Here’s a link to help you. If the problem persists, try
restarting your computer after downloading the latest version of Adobe. You can also try
re-downloading the file from TPT. Be sure you’ve unzipped the folder (see FAQ 1 above).

4. Some of the distance learning resources come in Google Slides. I’m having
trouble navigating Google Slides. Can you help me?
Answer: Absolutely! I put together Tips for Using Google Slides to help you and your
students better navigate Google Slides and the included digital resources.

5. Some files are not editable. Can you send me the editable version?
Answer: Many of my resources come in an editable format, including exams, quizzes,
projects, and more. Non-editable resources will not be provided in an editable format
even if requested. This is to protect formatting and my copyright.

6. I want to purchase a bundle of your resources, but already purchased one of

the resources that’s included in the bundle. Can I get a refund for the one I
already bought?
Answer: Absolutely! TPT does not give sellers any ability to provide discounts or
coupons to individuals. We also cannot issue refunds. To request a refund for this
reason, click this link to TPT’s form. They will issue refunds for “duplicate purchases”
which includes buying a resource that was already in a bundle you bought.

7. I want to purchase more resources from your store, but I’m having trouble
navigating. Do you have an easy-to-read list of your resources?
Answer: Yep! I have one on my website. Here’s the link to what you’re looking for 😊

8. There is an error or typo on one of the non-editable resources. How can I get
this fixed?
Answer: I do my absolute best to proofread my resources several times, but I’m human
and miss things. I would deeply appreciate it if you would email me at
mrspinteractiveclassroom@gmail.com prior to leaving a review so I can rectify the error
for you in a timely manner.

9. I can’t find the links to distance learning resources. Where can I find them?
Answer: They appear at the bottom of each lesson plan under “digital links.”

10. For distance learning (Google Drive) resources, I would prefer to copy the
whole folder instead of each individual resource. How can I do this?
Answer: I wish there was a way! As of November 2020, Google Drive does not allow for
the copying of an entire folder. For now, you will need to make a copy of each resource.

11. I purchased a bundle. When I downloaded it, it asked me to unzip every
resource’s folder. Is there a way around this?
Answer: Unfortunately, no. When sellers bundle resources, this is how TPT organizes
them. I apologize for the inconvenience.

12. When I click on a Google Docs/Slides/Forms link from the lesson plan, I
don’t have editing rights. What do I do?
Answer: Go to file > make a copy and you’ll be able to have editing rights for the
document.
