NO. 047 THE FELT DUNCAN DONUT

Doesn’t your mouth just water when you look at these felt donuts? Made in different styles and colors and put into a
box, these donuts look real enough to eat! These felt donuts are great for your children to play with, especially for tea
parties or during “house”. It is also pleasant to have them around the house as decorations, simply for aesthetic
purposes. For those of you who enjoy making felt creations, you may want to add this tempting donut pattern to your
collection. But watch out! You may start craving donuts from making these Felt Duncan Donuts!

WARNING: Finished product is not edible, despite how scrumptious and convincing it looks. Do not attempt to eat. You

Cut out the Fabric
Draw directly onto the wrong side of a single layer of felt. Cut out the exterior pieces, see Picture 1.

Attach the Frosting


Place the frosting right side up on the right side of a donut piece. Pin the two together, see Picture 2.
Blanket stitch around the inner hole of the frosting piece using 4 strands of embroidery thread, see Picture
3. Blanket stitch around the outer edge of the frosting using 4 strands of embroidery thread, see Picture 4.
Sew the sprinkles if desired. (See “Sew the Sprinkles”) Place the donut pieces with wrong sides together, see
Picture 5. Pin the two together, and blanket stitch around the inner hole of the donut pieces, see Picture 6.

Blanket stitch around the outer edge of the donut pieces, leaving an opening from one Point A to Point C,
as shown in Picture 7. Fill the donut to A and C with fiberfill, see Picture 8. Blanket stitch from Point A to
Point B, see Picture 9. Insert the fiberfill into the donut until it is full, see Picture 10. Blanket stitch from Point
B to Point C, see Picture 11. The completed felt donut will look like Picture 12.

Sew the Sprinkles (Optional)
Sew the sprinkles on the frosting piece, after
attaching it to the donut piece. Running stitch the
frosting piece using 12 strands of embroidery
Sprinkles thread in 3-4 different colors, see Pictures 13-15.
