HEART FAILURE LEADING TO SHORT AND LONG TERM DEATH 2

Abstract

This paper contains information taken from the article about elevated systolic blood pressure

during the heart failure of a patient. It tackles to whom does heart failure is prone to. As

mentioned below, this heart failure was common in aged people or persons 50 years above.

There are lots of topics that can use to discuss with. But still, I choose this topic not just for

myself but also for other people to be aware of this illness. Heart failure was too risky for

everyone. This can be lead to short and long term death. There are issues sighted in the article,

and people should be aware of their health as a person. Most, especially aged person, should

have a monthly check-up to maintain a healthy body. They should maintain a healthy lifestyle to

live longer. Hildegard E. Peplau's theory of Interpersonal Relations Theory can be used to

reconcile this issue.

HEART FAILURE LEADING TO SHORT AND LONG TERM DEATH 3

Heart Failure is a kind of illness that will hit a person suddenly. I choose this topic or

article, to become aware and knowledgeable enough to prevent this occurrence. Also, for the

awareness of everybody that this illness exists without any specific symptoms. According to the

DOH, persons with the age of 50 above are most prone. Because they already have a low

immune system, that is why they are more prone to diseases, and they can hardly fight for

infections. Their muscles and bones are weak. There are lots of underlying reasons that a person

may have heart disease. It was because of fatty foods that a patient consumed, or this disease was

already in their family genes.

The patients that were being admitted to the hospital with acute heart failure have low

Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP). SBP levels vary among patients with different heart failure.

Systolic is the amount of pressure in the arteries during contraction of the heart's muscle.

Therefore, if the patient was found out having a very high/low systolic blood pressure was

considered at-risk factor. It may also lead to short and long term death of the patient.

The interpersonal relations Theory by Hildegard E. Peplau can be used in this issue. The

theory talks about the interactions between an individual who is sick or in need of health services

and a nurse that is educated enough to respond for help. As a health care provider, it is their job

not just to cure illnesses but also to prevent it from happening. It is advisable, especially for

elders, to have a monthly check-up. Let us encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle. Avoid

vices and alcoholic drinks as possible.
